Surprisingly, I like the Crue.... ( @AGHisBBS - the palm muting on the guitar riff really changes it and makes it "harder" sounding)

 

Here I have to disagree. While not a big fan of the Beatles, I have to say they did it best.

In this song, which sounds super catchy and pop, is actually really dark. He insults the music industry, critics, and fans as being simpletons who can easily be entertained. Even the melody he picked is an insult, as it's a version Pachelbel's Canon, a simple and repetitive melody that every 7yr old piano student plays ad nauseum. Listen carefully and read the lyrics. He said he could manipulate us, and indeed, this was a huge hit.
