Thank you Doug and Clint! Our Jason @jtspartan did a fantastic thing arranging the 30 Day Crew Limited Edition brushes. I didn't really think about it Andrew. Using the slightly damp Cashmere knot that fits right into the container and an aggressive poking & twisting motion. I'm sure it would face lather from a 15 second load time, but I used a bowl. Easy Peasy!
Thanks Jim! A hard running, sun up to sun down, fun filled day. We got to the boat ramp before sunrise. Dad and I spent most of the day sitting in comfy chairs. My nephew Jacob supplied the boat, fuel, and brought a couple cold beers. He also caught the best fish. I believe this is a Speckled Trout. I got up out of my comfy chair long enough to put this Red in the ice chest. It was the second largest fish caught on the outing. By the time we returned from The Gulf to the boat launch everyone had all the fun we could stand for one day. So dad and I took the fish home, and cleaned them while being bitten by mosquitoes until just about sun down. Mom didn't want to be in charge of a fresh fish fry so that's scheduled for tomorrow evening.
Well, I made it through Homecoming! It's a crazy time for teachers but always fun for the students. It should be about the students first and foremost, so I'll put up with a little crazy in the hopes that they'll enjoy some fun activities. Now, hopefully I can rest this weekend!
OCtober!!! October 13 Razor - Fatip Piccolo Blade - (1) Pre-shave - Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap Soap - Truefitt & Hill 1805 Brush - Jayaruh #46 Post - Alum The Fatip is up in rotation for OCtober and I love it. I've liked this razor since the first shave with it and have been looking forward to spending three days with it. This is a razor that will bite if you disrespect it. However, show it the love and handle it right and you won't get a finer shave anywhere. I'm pairing it with the Perma-Sharp blade from St. Pete, probably my favorite of the Russians from there. I'm using Truefitt & Hill 1805 for the three shaves and I'm going to add the Stirling pre-shave soap for all three as well. I'll be washing my face with it and only doing a light rinse before lathering over it. The feel it gives is marvelous and the hint of menthol really adds some nice cooling and aroma to the 1805. The JR46 for the shave tonight did a fantastic job once I got the water right. I had to adjust just a bit to get the lather to really pop but I got there. What can I say except WOW! Smooth shave, no blood, two passes and just a bit of touch up and the baby is in the house, fed, bathed, and sleeping. My face is incredibly smooth and soft with the help of the pre-shave soap and the alum was mostly quiet. A few tiny hot spots as usual but nothing to worry about. This was a great start for this razor and I hope the next two go as well! This was a fun shave and I took my time with it and enjoyed it since the house is mine for two nights. This is living. Hope you have some fun planned for the weekend. My fun will be selling a lot of beds (I hope) and getting in two more of these shaves!
OCtober! XIII of October 2017 Anyone read that Fatip is a rough shave? Hint: whoever wrote that wasn't "riding the cap." Shavette like closeness and comfort, in fact, I tried for the Grail. For this attempt I washed my beard with tepid water, mild scrub with a cotton washcloth, and selected Barbasol Sensitve Skin. For the uninitiated, a Grail shave is generally accepted as near BBS/>DFS on one pass. Usually ATG, though the definition of the Grail Shave is not codified. Put the full stretch on it and went against the current for the win.... @entropy1049 - I gotta admit, there is an adjustment going back to OC DE versus SR/shavette. I'm sure others ( like @Keithmax @mrchick @Drygulch et al ) probably experience this too. Really loving OCtober. All the time spent with a shavette makes the Fatip an easy win. @Linuxguile - I think the mass of the Grande is almost ideal, though I've not tried the Piccolo handle. Since it was a Barbasol, AV is a natural....same shelf at my local grocery! I am back. I've been, quite honestly, a little mentally burned out and have been focusing on more leisure activity in my spare time and I am feeling good again, and ready for more shenanigans! Glad to see this little thread is still the same cool place it always has been. Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado. Have a great weekend. Make someone smile tomorrow.
Glad to see you rested and relaxed. We all need some time to do that now and then. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
Thanks Jason. It's hard to beat a day on the water and the weather was perfect. I had no idea there were so many dolphins in the Gulf. I traveled around 30 miles and back by water. Must have seen two dozen pods - family groups of 3 to 12. None approached our pontoon party boat, but they weren't shy either. Kangol 504 Tropic Ventair X/Large polyester/acrylic for hand washable comfort and style. I'm going to look into a wool cap for cool weather.
Glad you back. I find I have to remind myself to make some adjustments when I switch razor types but skin stretching is the same. Fatip, rough shave??? I have a Joris which is the same head and it shaves great. It is aggressive so I ride the cap and then adjust it until hit the angle I want. A grail shave for me is zero irritation, zero blood and long lasting dolphin smooth face.... no matter how many passes it takes. Glad to see you back and recharged.
Saturday Shave: I received a present, a slice from a brick of Cella. Last night I test lathered it so I had some practice before my first shave with Cella. To celebrate my first Cella shave I went all Italian from the razor to the strop to the soap to the brush to pre shave to AS and even perfume. This is some good performing stuff, slick and plenty of cushion. Today's razor is Mastro Livi on its second shave after a touch up on a Zulu Grey. I have not mastered using the Zulu but I go luck with this razor and the edge was very smooth and very sharp. I thought for sure it was an epic shave but a tiny tickle from the alum and one tiny weeper left with just an outstanding shave. Irritation A Closeness A+ Smoothness A+ Sharpness A+ Razor: Mastro Livi Strop: Mastro Livi Brush: Semogue boar Pre: Proraso Soap: Cella AS: Proraso Scent: AdP Essensa

Sending good thoughts your way. Hopefully the steroid injections can help out, at least enough to keep you movin' (without too much pain)! From what I've heard anyway, a hip replacement is "better" than a knee replacement, in regards to recovery time. For your sake, I hope that holds true!
