Also @sdguero I frequently travel to KY and AL, and have the fortune of staying in the homes of family and friends. They let me stash a can of Barbasol, some Adidas AS and some Voskhod. Given the fact that they are used perhaps 20-25 days per year, it's a long term solution for my travel.
SOTD 10.16.2017 Pre-shave: hot shower Shave Cream: Barbasol Sensitive Skin Blade: Personna Blue (2) Razor: Gillette Black Beauty (P-3) Post-shave: Dickinson WH, Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm, Skin Bracer AS This was my first use of the 1970 Gillette Adjustable 109. I had four days worth of stubble and unsure where I start, I simply started at setting 1. It was a smooth, comfortable 1st pass, and I still had stubble on my chin and neck area, which isn't unusual for me. I decided to change the setting to a 3 and did my second pass, and afterwards double-checking what had been missed or needed some clean-up, I thought, "WOW! This is great!" I think I love this razor. I did a clean up pass on my neck but I don't think I needed it. I declared a BBS!
Hey guys... I started a separate thread for this experiment with the travel size can. http://theshaveden.com/forums/threa...m-travel-can-experiment-sensitive-skin.57755/
The new razors kick ass. I shave my head with them usually. Tonight I did both head and face shave. Great stuff ! MURICA! Sent from my LGLS755 using Tapatalk
And though you may see a Samurai robe...as someone who believes the 3 Gs can heal a people, I raise a can of Barbasol and a scary black rifle upward...and as a single tear of pride streams down my cheek...the thought in my mind is clear.... Murica! -or sometimes- Wolverines! -
SOTD 10.17.2017 Pre-shave: Hot Shower & Shave Secret (not pictured) Shave Cream: Barbasol Sensitive Skin ( http://theshaveden.com/forums/threa...m-travel-can-experiment-sensitive-skin.57755/ ) Razor: 1970 Gillette Adjustable (P-1) Blade: Personna Blue (3) Post-shave: Thayer's Lavender WH, Nivea "Maximum Hydration" Post Shave Balm, Pinaud Clubman Bay Rum AS This is Shave #3 to find out how many shaves a person can get from a travel size can of Barbasol Sensitive Skin shave cream. This is my second shave with the '70 Gillette black beauty. I was mistaken yesterday, this razor is a P-1, not a P-3 as I noted yesterday. Fairly minor error, but during my career I had a reputation of being a stickler on getting the details right in documentation so I feel I have to set the record straight. Today I set the razor at #5 and I didn't look back. 1st pass... grand. 2nd pass... magnificent. After the 2nd pass I felt around on my face to determine where I needed clean-up and thought, "No! This can't be. Don't tell me this joyous experience is over already! I always have some clean-up to do." I pretended I had an exposed hair or two on my neck, even though I didn't feel any, so I could enjoy a clean-up pass. I love this razor! I hope everyone else enjoys an equally joyful shave!
I've been enjoying my Mtn. Blast(a PIF), but will have to go back to the Original when it's done(which won't be bad news, of course).
Guess I have been remiss about posting to this thread. Here are a few pics to catch me up: All good shaves. I really enjoy the smell of each of these Barbasol scents. Right now it's a toss-up between Sensitive Skin & Pacific Rush.
Hoss, I like the TOTAL BARBASOL concept a lot. I was tempted to buy some disposable Barbasol Razors at Dollar Tree until I saw that they were merely Gillette Good News Twin Blade clones. I already have enough of those (though they are NOT Barbasol branded). Is the razor you pictured a 3, 4, or 5-blade system? Looks like a nice handle.
It's the new 3 blade . I get about 6 head shaves out of one . They are just as good as the Gillette Mach 3 carts. I use 3 blade for head shaves. I never could quite get the same result with a DE . Sent from my LGLS755 using Tapatalk
My local Kroger grocery store carries them. I haven't found the 6 blade ones yet . These are great disposables Sent from my LGLS755 using Tapatalk
I guess I should add ... I only shave my head once maybe twice a week so 6 or more uses from any cart or disposable is a great one in my book. Sent from my LGLS755 using Tapatalk
