    OCtober!!!

    October 18

Razor - Matthew the Haunted New Deluxe SC
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Pre-shave - Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
    Soap - Stirling Electric Sheep
    Brush - Stirling Synthetic
    Post - Alum

Second shave with this setup and it's a winner. Adding the mentholated pre-shave soap under the Electric Sheep gives it just an extra edge that really makes it an interesting shave. The slight cooling of the menthol on top of the Electric Sheep effect is quite nice and the scent is also enhanced in just the right way. Great combination of a pre-shave product and a soap. I'm thinking a full bar of the pre-shave soap is probably in my future. We'll have to give Rod an honorary enabler award for sending that sample with one of my orders. Looks like he got me.

As far as the shave - the baby is in the house in 2 plus touch ups. Nothing more needs to be said. Other than I really like the feel of this razor in my hand. Definitely going to have it re-plated. The only decision is whether to take it back to its original vintage gold or to have Delta Echo do a number on it. I'm a bit torn on which way to go. Your votes are certainly allowed!

Exceptional picture! Not only is it a great display of your gear in nature, it also inspires me to wonder what snakes may be hiding in and around that log. The herper in me would be doing some digging!

Good news, I am praying for a quick and full recovery for Maya.

I hope that is good news. Wishing you a quick recovery.

TdH both the EDP and EDT are wonderful. I agree the EDP is more concentrated but the EdC has more of the 'metallic' note to my nose.

    Thursday Shave:

Today is the second shave with Ali's Blade, I do enjoy the smiling blade. I lost focus and got two small nicks, otherwise, it would have been an A+ for irritation.

    Razor: Ali’s Blade
    Strop: Dry Gulch Black Latigo
    Brush: Kent BK8
    Pre: Proraso

I would say go with the original gold plating so your ghost can continue to feel at home. I just don’t think haunting a Delta Echo razor would be the same for him...

That Stirling pre-shave soap sounds interesting. I only have the one Stirling product, the Naked and Smooth unscented soap.

So I asked the Wife what she thought and all she could say was "Clean". I smelled the Brisk Spice and then the Tai Winds. The Brisk Spice I can smell clove in it that I do not get from the Tai Winds. That is all I can say, maybe ask some others, but that's all I got. Like I said I can't describe scents well. Maybe @RyX can clue us in some. As I recall Rick has posted breakdowns of scents before for different after shaves. I think.

Not trying to buck @Screwtape 's thought (he has a valid point!), but I'm going to vote Delta Echo. From what I remember seeing on Razor Emporium's site, the gold plating is recommended more for "showpieces", rather than for using. I do think the Delta Echo finishes would hold up to regular use much better. In addition, if you were so inclined, you could pick out a custom color scheme, making it a one-of-a-kind. Plus, Delta Echo razors just look cool! :D

I will side with @Screwtape on the Stirling pre-shave soap...it does sound intriguing. I also saw another post or two in the thread that was favorable. I don't typically do any pre-shave routine...but...

    WDC-8 with Druida Manchurian
C&S Oxford and Cambridge Shaving Soap
    Fine Lavender

This morning was much less hectic than yesterday. I appreciated the relaxing shave this morning. This hardware and software lineup certainly enhanced the relaxing vibe of the morning. The Cambridge & Oxford has a wonderful scent of peppermint in the foreground with lavender as the base. There is just enough peppermint to provide a slight cooling effect to the lather. The Cambridge & Oxford combined with the WDC-8 was a face lathering dream. Three passes and touch ups ended in a near prefect shave just missing the baby. A splash of Fine Lavender with its matching scent profile is a wonderful end to a great shave. I hope everyone has a fantastic Thursday.
