Once again we're going to pay my Dad a visit so I'll do my kickoff now!

    Menthol Monday:

    Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
    Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
    Junjie/new Derby
    Stirling Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo SS
    Stirling Glacial Unscented AS Balm
    B&M Arctique AS Splash
    Obsession For Men EdT

I want to see how my Junjie performs with a Derby blade, although I'm sure the results will be good. This selection of icebergs can drive a polar bear out of the North Pole!

    Cremo Cooling Shave Cream
    Jayaruh #229
    Probak
    Gillette Silver Blue
    CWR
    Thayer's Lemon WH
    Pinaud Clubman

I am about to have my shave with the Cremo Cooling Shave Cream. The directions say to use as hot water as you can stand. That defeats the whole purpose of a cold water shave. I am going to try it with cold water. If it doesn't work on the first pass, I may switch soaps. I will be back.

I'm back. I skipped the Proraso Pre-Shave today. I started by just wetting my face with cold water. I used a small dollop of Cremo and attempted to face-lather with the Jayaruh #229 synthetic brush. It does not foam. I did work up what looked like the beginning of a lather, but it disappeared quickly. I was able to continue with just cold water though. I did two passes with the Probak razor and Gillette Silver Blue blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

So, I will keep the Cremo and use it in my Menthol Monday rotation. It wasn't too bad. This tube should last me years considering it will be used only once a month at most.

Is Cremo easy to lather with a brush? I've heard conflicting reports.

I really enjoy Cremo and have been using it for some time. The stuff in the tube really does not lather at all and it was designed that way according to the company. They make a Sandalwood in a tub that is a lathering formula. The early batches lathered a bit, but it was not the best. I understand that Cremo listened to the feedback and improved the lathering aspect of this Sandalwood. I have not tried the tweaked version. Nevertheless, Cremo makes great creams. I love the cooling formula in the tube, but if you want lather, I would look elsewhere.

When the last of my Rise's is done, I may well give Cremo a try. I'm glad to see a "Cooling" variety in their arsenal. This would serve as a backup to Barbasol.

I will find out tomorrow. I tried the original Cremo when it first came out. I ended up piffing it because it did not lather. I will apply it with my brush and see what happens. Remember that Burma Shave was a brushless shaving cream. I guess it did not lather. You can't get it any more.
    Good to hear.
