I've had an idea for a theme. The Inspired Shave. While some plan a week ahead, or only the day before, I rarely know what I'll use until I get to my gear. Being on a Focus has channeled my flibbertigibbet. All SE's was fun and I even stuck to one soap each week. All OC's hasn't cramped my style or lack there of.
So this Inspired Shave idea - With my current gear I might have the ability to match someone else's choices for the day. Tossing in the NoVariation angle I might stick with it until the next Inspired Shave presents itself. Just a thought.

I suppose that's one way to score high in business satisfaction surveys - you have a Return for Refund rate of ZERO. On the other hand, customer retention must be a little bit iffy...

I understand about the camera thing. It happens to the best of us. So is there a partially shaven Sasquatch roaming the Canadian woods now?

    Fine Platinum Soap and Aftershave

Another very good shave this morning. After several days of using synthetics it was nice to return to using a badger brush. After rubbing the Fine Platinum shave stick around the face I started face lathering. The scrub of the brush added to the experience. Fine Platinum is one of my favorite aftershave scents and the soap just carries the scent throughout the shave. Three passes and touch ups later ended in a near perfect shave. A splash of Platinum to keep the theme going and I think I ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

    Prep: Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick
    Razor: Personna injector
    Brush: Vulfix badger
    Lather: Palmolive shave stick
Post: Witch hazel, Pitralon Classic aftershave
    WTG, touch up

I think I've got this shave stick thing figured out. Less is more when applying the stick. Then I take the damp brush and move it around my face with pushing the bristles down and up. That energizes the paste on my face some. Then I dip the tips and begin to vigorously face lather. That has worked quite well. Getting great lathers overall. Very impressed with this Palmolive stick and the Wilkinson stick. Arko works great as well but doesn't have the best post-shave feel for me. It's fine but the others are better for me.

Nice shave in the end. Have a great day!

You might want to do that, Doug. As it headed out the door, I heard it mutter that it knew exactly where to find another TSD member to borrow a brush from to go with its new razor. That didn't mean much to me at the time, but later, I discovered one of my razors was missing (a Red Tip SS that I didn't like anyway). And it was headed in your direction and you've got really nice brushes...

One more day with the NEW/Polsilver combo. Used one of my absolute favourites- the Maximo Gomez. Excellent great-scented lather, excellent razor, excellent shave. 3 passes later I am completely smooth. Finished with Unconditional Surrender and it doesn't get better than this.
    Have a great day all!
