O god. I may be in some trouble lol. I think I’ve been bitten by the bug. And it hasn’t even been a week since I’ve started.
Thank you Charlie. Maya and I had a great lunch together. I am back before the UGA game and she is working on homework. Thank you Jason. After the week I had, I need a good weekend. My wife gave me the bowl with AOS sandalwood soap. I like the bowl better than the soap. However I appreciate all the shaving gifts she gives me. Much better to have her supporting one of my hobbies. Thank you Perry. We had a great time. Mom was off the road by the time Maya came along. She did travel about 60% of the time for the older daughter, Asha.
Great B&W photo Perry. I never would have guessed a simple Schick PIF would have you give up DE razors. Funny how things work out. Sounds like a wonderful day with your Dad. Have a great time.
The one other piece of advice I would give: Stick to your current razor for at least a month. Once you get your technique down, you will be able to get any razor and shave well with it. I wasted lots of money in my early days getting all kinds razors. Often I was disappointed by the razor, but in reality it was my skill that was the problem.
It should be fun. My son is disappointed that he isn't coming, but he is just a bit too young. I will have to take home next time.
I am definitely sticking to this one till I get it down solid then I will branch out to others. I think the only change I am going to make is switch from arko stick to Stirling soap “wife isn’t to fond of the arko stick scent lol”. But until it is down everything else will be the same.
Keeping the wife happy is a good idea. Stirling and Arko lather a bit different for me, so take that into consideration. Minimizing the variables helps build your technique,
Wise move. Keeping variables to a minimum speeds up the entire learning process. You'll be amazed by the amount your technique will improve over the next month.
You're welcome Perry. Sharing cheap drug store aftershave is what it's all about! I'm glad I finally found it at like the sixth store. It was at Family Dollar Tree Dollar General store. I appreciate the stack of Personna Lab Blue blades you sent. That Route 66 Retro Spice soap sample is good stuff, too. It fit an Old Spice mug just right.
Razor: Gillette 1930's OC Ball End Made in Canada Blade: Personna Tungsten 74 (18) Brush: Elite Razor Tres Amigo w/ Sunset Synthetic Soap: Jeeves of Hudson Street Private Study A/S: Floid Amber A great week of shaving with these products. I probably could get another shave or two out of this blade, however, I'm changing razors tomorrow and the Personna 74 won't fit.
October Off Focus Route 66 Barbershop Hop B-400 Tuxedo brush Ming Shi 2000S razor Personna Lab Blue blade Alum, Triple Leather AS Opps, slipped off Focus, Blame the USPS for delivering my Futur clone two days early. Great lather from the lanolin enriched Route 66 soap. Perfect function out of the synthetic knot and ceramic bowl. I dropped a fresh blade in the new toy and started at setting .5. WTG didn't catch much so I relathered and bumped to 1.5. ATG still left a good deal of stubble. Upped the adjuster to 3.5 and took my XTG pass. Just about then I got a"Can you come to my jobsite and fix this right now?" phone call. Aborted the not quite SAS shave after a silent alum swipe, no burn AS splash. I did take this moment to post as I'll end up in the dark outside anyways. Good Shaves Y'all!
I hope the call doesn't keep you too out long. Looking forward to your more complete thoughts on the 2000S.
