Monday October 30 just before midnight -- pick me up shave

    Schick E2 / Personna (5ish)
Semogue Owners Club cherrywood boar brush
    TOBS Mr. Taylor cream
    TSD Sandalwood Milk Aftershave Balm

I'm into the last stretch of a very long multiple shift and had a quick shave to perk me up. Worked very well. TOBS creams always produce a wonderful lather for me and tonight was no exception. I used a generous dash of the Mr. Taylor cream and the SOC brush whipped up a bowl full of creamy goodness for me. I think my SOC brush is well broken in now. The brush is very soft and when heavily loaded does an excellent job of painting the lather on my face. And there is absolutely no scritch from it. Even when the brush doesn't work well because I haven't added enough product, all that happens is that the lather is skimpy -- the brush still feels soft and without any scratchiness.

Mr. Taylor is a sandalwood base with a bunch of other primarily herbal scents added to it. I don't have an aftershave balm or splash that exactly matches it (TOBS does make balms and aftershaves that match its most popular scents, including Mr. Taylor, but I don't have any of them.) However, the TSD pure sandalwood balm was close enough, and between it and the TOBS cream my face is left feeling smooth and well hydrated.

    Overall a pleasant break.

    Tuesday Shave:

Sunday night in a jet lagged crazed moment I touched up allot of razors on the new Gomukyo 20k, one was this monster of a blade, M Martinez smiling 8/8. The edge was very smooth and very sharp. I really enjoy this big blade with it's big smile. Just short of epic with a small weeper.

The pumpkin Maya painted is up for today's SOTD picture. A good shave is always a nice start to the day. The WWB whipped up Jeff's Soap easily. Three passes and some touch ups left me with a very close comfortable shave. The blade is just about done. It requires more buffing and touch ups each day to get the same results. Overall I am pleased with how long the blade lasted. Thanks @Douglas Carey for the chance to give them a try. A splash of Floid Blue and I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

    OCtober 2017 Recap

Open Comb razors are my favorite type of DE razors, so I always look forward to OCtober. Overtime I have reduced the number of OC razors I own down to three. During the month, I took the opportunity to use all three of these OC razors. Each deliver close smooth shaves but have their own characteristics which keep things interesting. The regular Wolfman has the blade feel of a Slim on 5 but the efficiency of Slim on 9+. The Timeless 0.95mm OC is a very smooth and efficient shaver. It does require a light touch but has a wide range of angles that work with the razor. The Wolfman with increased blade gap is just as efficient but has a much narrower sweet spot.

As always, I have enjoyed reading and following along during the month. I am looking forward to next month with the 30 Day Crew.

Last shave of the OC focus was another good one. After 3 foci over the last 3 months, I think I am going to skip the No Variation November. I have spent plenty of time with my razors and don't feel like being locked into a kit for the month. Enjoy your day.
