That is crazy, Jason. We experience that kind of snowfall in Kentucky about once every decade and nearly always in the dead of winter. Hope you are well stocked and can enjoy the weather from home this weekend.

I will count this as a blessing that all the safety gear worked and prevented major injuries! Driving, statistically speaking, is far more dangerous than people realize. Hope your wife's foot heals quickly, and that everything works out smoothly.

Ahh, life in the Rocky Mountain areas! Sounds kinda like Colorado at times.

I don’t like to leave any evidence behind, let’s just say it’s north of 50.

We are very close to the BC/Alberta/Idaho/Montana border. Geography is obviously very similar to northern Montana and Idaho. Zero flat land- the plains don't start until the east side of the Rockies here, unlike eastern Washington or most of Idaho. Tucked in a valley between the Rocky and Purcell mountains. I get to live on a postcard, I'm certainly not complaining about the snow!

We visited Victoria a couple of years ago. It was one of the most beautiful places we've ever seen. It looks like you're a 12-hour drive from Victoria. BC is massive! A trip through BC is definitely on our bucket list.

Don't be lulled into a false sense of security. Watch out for "B!" It may be Barbasol.

Perry, I am glad to hear your wife and son are going to be OK. That is some scary stuff. I will be praying for them and you as well.

With a combination of a late shave and very close SR shave, it will be a no shave day for me. I just don't need it. My daughter and I had a great time. She somewhat danced with a boy for the first time, hit me a bit as I realized she is growing up. Here is a pic from before the event.

She doesn't like getting her picture taken too much, but her mom made her do it, even if her mom is 300 miles away or so. Mom has a whole network of other moms to do hair (I can't be trusted, which is why I wear my hair short ;)) and take pictures.

Oh jeez Perry, I’m sorry. Super glad everyone is okay, but sorry for the stress and ordeal. You are all in my prayers.

I am going to watch this one from the sideline this month, and just follow along. Work has been stupid busy, and is probably going to stay that way until the end of the year. I haven’t really been able to focus on anything, heck I’ve only even been shaving once or twice during the week. About to go take five days worth off right now.

I went to university in Victoria. Undergrad and grad school, 9 years apart. So, I got to live in that beautiful city twice. You are right, Doug, BC seems massive as it is a series of North/South mountain ranges. Travelling East/West anywhere means mountain passes. I grew up in the 'lower mainland' which is the common vernacular for Vancouver and area. A small forestry (then) and bedroom community (now) between Vancouver and Whistler. 80-90% of BC lives within an hours drive of Vancouver.

Not this volume, and not with days below freezing. Usually the first snowfalls are gone soon after they fall. Not this one. Minus 10 Celcius last night. This might stick around for a bit.

Great photo Jim. Enjoy the times with your daughter. They grow up so fast.

Thank you, Clint! Last night was wake up call at how quickly she is growing up.
