What's an average number of shots by a bow before it should be restrung?

I don’t know. I get it done about once a year. To state the obvious, if it looks frayed, get it restrung ASAP.

    No secret, Utrecht :)

    From Google:

"Utrecht is a city in the central Netherlands that has been a religious center for centuries. It has a medieval old town, canals, Christian monuments and a venerable university. The iconic Domtoren, a 14th-century bell tower with city views, stands opposite the Gothic Cathedral of St. Martin on central Domplein square. The museum Catharijneconvent shows religious art and artifacts in a former monastery."

But there's much more to see and enjoy than Christian history :)

Ok, sorry if this is a bit boring, but last Dutch item for the week (well, it is Friday after all ;) ) @Eeyore & @macaronus

I just took the dutchsummerschool.nl proficiency test, which mind you, doesn't test verbal or auditory skills. But, it's one of the tests that I took 9 months ago.

Then: I scored at "A1" level with 68% toward "A2" (need 85% to level up).

Now: I scored at "A2" with 52% toward "B1" (need 65% to level up).

(edit: for those not familiar with the CEFR system, 0=no knowledge, A1= low beginner, A2=high beginner, B1=low intermediate)

Considering I've been at this for just under 19 months and with no formal classes, I'm -- not to brag -- darn pleased with myself, especially remembering all the frustrations of the first few months. (I am certain that once I have to speak/listen I will go right back to frustration and/or accidentally cause an international incident.)

I think the major hurdle for me at this point is to keep learning vocabulary and to keep all the grammar straight when I don't use the language enough to practice it. Oh... and to get speaking. ;) You may all feel sorry for The Limecat who, at some point, will probably become my primary victim... I mean .. uh .. conversation person.

Well done on the test! A2 should get you pretty far through daily life.

    Slightly off topic:

What's the difference between "Holland" and "the Kingdom of the Netherlands"? Is Holland a constituent part of the Kingdom?

Short answer, "yes." Holland (north and south) are two of the provinces in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. But, to be technical, The K of N also includes the Dutch oversees territories such as St. Maarten.

    Correct :)

Holland consists of the two provinces in the west of the country, Noord-Holland and Zuid-Holland.
The Netherlands consists of all provinces, including the Caribbean islands Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba.
The Kingdom of the Netherlands consists of the Netherlands, and the Caribbean islands Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten.

Yesterday I updated my Linux Mint Mate 15 laptop to 18.2. Works flawlessly. :happy108:

Today I'm taking it slow before work (evening shift). Sore throat, hoarse, blocked nose, slight headache. Took some paracetamol, inhalated steam with menthol and eucalyptus oil, etc. Now up for a nap with some nice music.
