Great picture and lineup Perry. Baker Street was one of my favorite Strop Shoppe scents. Your description of the scent matches my recollection. I don't recall a juniper element in the soaps scent profile.
Thank you Jason. In general I prefer the more aggressive SE razors for my neck since they require less work to get the area my neck done. However, I get about the same results with my more aggressive DE razors. For the remainder of the razors, I just do the best I can and move on.
November 8, 2017 Razor: Gillette Contract Tech Blade: Gillette Platinum Plus (1) Brush: 30DC LE/Pure Badger Soap: Der Vergulde Hand Post: Alum, Listerine The wife and daughter are away, so time to break out the soaps. The DVH was a very generous PIF from @Vlasta and, for various reasons, this has been my first chance to try it. I probably need to get it dialed in a bit, but I had no problems with getting a very nice lather. As for the razor, I decided that the Wilkie from yesterday was probably done so I decided to try and up the sharpness with a Brazilian-made Gillette Platinum Plus. The local Walgreens appears to have stopped stocking these blades and, though they are not necessarily a favorite, I feel I should buy some more if only to show Gillette that DE shavers are still out there. As with yesterday's shave, I could definitely sense a bit 0f blade feel but nothing that basic technique and caution couldn't handle. Overall, a BBS or close enough with no issues and just the tiniest sting from the Alum. This is definitely an interesting razor. The alternative materials used give it a feel more like a modern Chinese Tech clone. The wear on the cap and handle, though, speak to some definite usage in its time. These were supposedly military issue razors, so I find myself wondering about its previous owner and what he might have experienced. Unfortunately, I've got to get to a meeting so no time for waxing poetic.

November 8 Weber SS Astra SP (1) Simpson Chubby 2 Super C.O. Bigelow shave cream Thayers Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, Pinaud Clubman aftershave, and Aramis EDT I loaded my Weber with a new Astra SP blade and enjoyed a nice two-pass shave this morning. I'm recovering from some neck irritation from yesterday's shave because I rushed it. This morning, I slowed down, rode the cap, and had much better results. Along with the menthol in the C.O. Bigelow, I applied some of my strongest aftershave and EDT. I let the scent dry down while I cleaned up my sink, and I approached my Bride for her daily rating. I expected a 3 or 4 out of 10. She rated it an 8, and said, "I like it." I hope you all had a fun day!
