I find it your reviews of the various tech razors very interesting. Out of curiosity, how many tech razors do you have in your collection?

 

Yes, it’s a large bowl. But, that isn’t a bad thing. I really like the way it lathers. The bumps seem to help.

Thank you, Clint! My goal this month is to not repeat a razor or soap. I may continue to next month to see how long I can go. I haven't counted either inn a while, so I am not sure how long this can go.

 

Thank you, Andrew! I am a bit surprised at how quickly it seems to be breaking in. It is definitely losing a few hairs, but I think that will slow down shortly too.

 

On a serious note, does Bio Freeze help the shoulder? After too many years spent playing baseball and volleyball my rotor cuff is showing lots of wear and tear. I have been having a lot of pain the past couple of months.

 

There are allot of Boris and Ivans here... funny you mention that.

I think the problem with the delivery was on my end. My guys knew it was important that they should deliver it in person unfortunately, they did some shopping at the duty-free store I think the picture will let you know why it never arrived

 

The equipment isn't defective. I'm developing the proper technique for this particular razor. As much as I agree about blades mattering less my last shave brought enough subtle deficiencies into the acceptable zone.

I have hope this can be a rival for a Fat Boy or Bunny shave. I'm enjoying the learning process because I have seen improvement each use.

Reducing the distraction & focusing on technique isn't magic. It's easy to slip into bad old habits. I'm glad you found your happy place.

I'm not sure Maxed out is necessary with this razor, but it's cool to know The 30 DC can go there.

The potential for a great shave was there. Like most any new razor it does take me few uses to find the sweet spot. I'm still in the learning zone so besides an efficient error free reduction, I'm hoping for truly long lasting shave, too.
I'm curious if I try the first blade (Personna Med Prep) again would it give better results? I think so.

 

Yeah that explains a lot. Good (sober) help is hard to find these days.

Oh! I see what you mean. What is that? A small (18mm?) Boar knot of unknown quality and disproportionate loft? The handle is metal, right? Is it possible to polish it?

It will be interesting to see what the knot does when it is broken in.

 

It takes the edge off long enough to get me to sleep.

Very small boar knot. Quality is known......it's horrible. The handle is metal. Supposedly aluminum and it may be. Extremely rough and unfinished. Doubt if it would polish at all. Wouldn't be surprised to find out it's Chernobyl based. Like you, I was expecting something a bit more flashy. However, I can't say as I'm disappointed in a way. It plays right into my overarching belief that Soviet engineers couldn't clip two pieces of paper together without a failure in the clip. Except in the blades they make. And the final version of the Soyuz that we ride to the ISS now.
