I am 8 days away from seeing my 2nd favorite band and the best guitar player of all time live for the 4th time. This solo in Breaking All Illusions is considered one of his best. He plays with so much emotion and feeling, yet he retains the technical proficiency he is known for. The solo plays from 6:00 to 9:00. I tried time stamping the video but it wouldn't work. Click play to enjoy some of the best guitar playing you will ever hear !!!

The electric guitar was invented in 1931 and John Petrucci is the best to ever play it in my opinion. His guitar solo in The Best Of Times is probably my favorite piece of music. Here are some videos for you. The first video is the guitar solo without any other instruments. The second video is the guitar solo with the full band playing behind him. Breathtaking !!!

This morning it was John Coltrane, but I'm thinking later might call for Eric Dolphy.

I'll give you my favorite 3 guitarists(not in particular order):

    1. Mark Knoepfler(Cars)
    2. Terry Kath(Chicago)
    3. The guitarists from the group BOSTON(they all sounded good!)

Knoepfler was in Dire Straits, not the Cars. He is amazing though. Tom Schultz is the guitarist and main songwriter for Boston. He has a unique sound all his own !!!

I stand corrected-Dire Straits it was... you say Schultz's sound was "all his own"-makes me wonder if the guitar ending to "Hitch A Ride" was done by HIM ONLY.

KISS Kruise 7 took place last weekend. KISS Kruise is a cruise celebrating all things KISS. KISS plays 2 main shows in makeup as well as an acoustic sail away show. They also bring various guest musicians and bands along for added entertainment. This year they brought out Bruce and Bob Kulick. Bruce was the lead guitar player in KISS during their 80's run, 84 to 95 to be exact. Bob auditioned for KISS back in 72 and although Gene and Paul loved his playing, he didn't fit the band visually or musically. Still he remained friends with Gene and Paul and played on Paul Stanley's 1978 solo album. Bruce and Bob played a blistering set featuring KISS songs that they had a part in creating. This was exciting because since the KISS reunion in 96, KISS doesn't touch this era of the band anymore. There are reasons as to why that is, but we can debate that at another time. Anyway, as soon a word got out about what Kulick bros played and video started to leak, KISS world exploded because of how freakin good they sounded. The consensus is that Bruce and Bob blew KISS away on their own cruise. Here is Bruce and Bob playing Turn On The Night from the album Crazy Nights (1988).
