The Number of Recent Gold Dollar Productions I have Recently Honed have Been as Ground as Well & the Bevel Area Finish has been Good as Any Current Dovo from the Factory..In Fact..I Tell Ya this..The Steel is Far Better than Dovo Steel in My Books..They are Moving Up a Notch with their Scales as Well..The New Production Classic Gold Dollar with the Wooden Scales are Also Easy to Hone & Stonking Shavers..Not My Cuppa Tea Mind But Neither are Current Dovos..:D

I’ve been thinking...when my GD W-59 arrives I just might leave the sharp toe...I like to live dangerously now and again. :signs136:

I left mine, sharp as can be. It was the only thing I could think about, during the entire shave.

I think this is a good thing...it improves your focus. And this is a good thing when shaving with a dangerously sharp piece of tempered steel. You really don’t want to let your mind wander, even for a second.

Exactly. That spike is definitely an attention getter, even if it doesn't slice you. I've been spiked, sliced, gouged, and cut by spike point razors nowhere near that pointy. Trust me, when that thing is in my hands, it definitely gets my respect.

They also have both Resin and Horn replacement scales for under $9. I have bought both and they are very nice. You will need to have you own washers and pin but they are pre-drilled and have the spacers installed... LINK

I know, it's more than I'm use to paying, but I liked the etching, and I like Bokers.
