Thanks, Clint! The J with a twin blade is pretty nice, but I would probably say the G3 would be my favorite. The A is a close second.

Yeow....I must have used a lot of the Rte 66 when I first receieved it last year...I'm already seeing part of the bottom of the jar! Think I'll put it on hold for a while, much as I love it. Although I will be ordering 2 new soaps by year's end, I'd like to keep the 66 around for as long as possible.

Do they see feetball games at Boise State with the blue turf?

They're not football fans at all. But my brother in law is a professor at Boise State.

Back home and back at work. We got in late on Sunday night and spent yesterday recovering and working on the mess from the big move, so little time to check in here. Sunday's shave was a repeat of Saturday's minimalist one, right down to the excellent results. Yesterday was a repeat of Thursday's with the post-War Tech and was also very satisfying. That brings us to today...

    November 14, 2017

Razor: Curley Ruifeng DE (Tech clone)
    Blade: Dorco ST-301 (3)
    Brush: 30DC LE/Pure Badger
    Cream: KMF fragrance-free

Today is something of a placeholder shave. I have a razor coming today which is tentatively scheduled for tomorrow's shave, so this one was somewhat up for grabs. I picked up the Curley Ruifeng razor last week at a local One Dollar Zone! along with a couple of tucks of German Wilkies. It's your basic Chinese clone of the Zamac Tech, except for having four small slots on each side rather than two larger ones and having a more traditionally-shaped cap (i.e., no facets). The last time I bought a razor from an ODZ!, it was a Junjie clone of the Tech that was somewhat unimpressive in that I kept feeling like I was going to be nicked by the corners of the safety bar and it came with an absolutely useless carbon steel blade. The Curley came with what claims to be a Stainless blade, but I was in no mood to push my luck this morning.

So, how did it shave? Pretty well, actually. It feels slightly more aggressive than the Sterling (i.e., more blade feel) but nothing unreasonable. Ease of use and results were comparable to any other Tech with just that nagging feeling that this is a cheaply-made razor.

Getting better! Thanks for asking. My wife is in a boot and can't drive so we're stretched a little thin. We need to buy a new vehicle but no pressing need until she's out of the boot. In the meantime our almost 3 year old boy picked up some virus and was coughing incessantly. Had to get a breathing treatment on Sunday. That's life, I guess!

oh ok....I suppose if I end up in either Pullman or Pomeroy, I can take many trips into Idaho(but Boise is a bit south of the Washington border).

@PLAla, glad things are improving, but sorry about your son. One of our gym instructors was in a boot for about 3 weeks so she couldn't teach, but she bravely came to work on her regular class days just to catch up on her paperwork.

Wonderful picture, Mark! Did you re-knot the brush? I just ordered one of these, but I only saw Synthetic as an option.
