  3. To me, a TV aftershave would be the trickiest to operate/maneuver.

  4. Avon Totem Pole, Spicy blend.
This is one I haven't seen before, so I snatched it up. Plus it contains 6 oz. of my favorite AVON scent.

  8. I picked up one of these, but it was empty.
    I refilled with P&G O.S. It's a cool decanter.
Yours is cooler with Shulton in it!
  9. Everything's better, when it contains Shulton Old Spice. :happy036:

  11. I haven't encountered Avon Spicy in the wild. Was it their version of Shulton Old Spice? Has it aged well?

  12. That may be my Stoylin choice for help with NB18-both the shave soap and the A.S. Will be interested to see how close it compares. But an Avon Spicy would be nice, too.

  13. Avon Spicy was supposed to be their version of the Shulton's Old Spice. A different scent, but to me, very nice. The women of the family really like it too.
As for aging well, I've never had one that was bad. They are much less expensive than Old Spice, and easier to come by, on Ebay. If you haven't tried Avon Spicy yet, you should.

  14. On vacation visiting the in laws in Sun City, Arizona. My father-in law and I went thrift store shopping most of the afternoon. The only shaving items I could find were several Avon cologne decanters. Most were cars that were still mostly full. They had a Teddy Roosevelt and I believe an FDR bottle both new in the box. All were just under 6.00 each.
I’m not in the market for those or even know anything about them so I don’t know if these are good deals or not.

  15. I've been enjoying my Maxwell 23 Tribute(the green oldies car). I saw a picture of the Teddy Roosevelt, and would like to see one of the FDR, too. The designs are so clever! I'll make an early NY resolution-use the Maxwell more often than I have been.
  16. Try a few different Avon aftershaves, you might like them.
Avon Spicy, and Deep Woods are two I like.

  17. Thanks for the input.
I smelled the cologne in one of the cars. It had a prevalent powder type smell. Not too overpowering but it smelled a little too feminine for my liking. The presidential ones looked interesting.
I read up a little bit on the car decanters and it seems that most aren’t too collectible due to the sheer number produced and because many were made into the 80s. The presidential ones might be the same. I don’t know.
There was also a turkey bottle too that was mostly full.
I might go back and take a better look. The store was closing shortly after I walked in.

  18. You might have a certain Decanter, but they came in many different scents. The scents were not specific to any certain Avon Decanter.

  19. Alas, 'twas empty. But at $.50, it will make a nice decanter for my current Old Spice.[IMG]

  20. Solution, just buy some Shulton Old Spice, in the plain bottle and transfer it. Then the Shulton Old Spice Stein will have the real Old Spice juice in it.
