Any more fans of Oblique nibs here? As a left-handed writer, I feel that they touch the paper at an optimal angle for me. I have a couple of Pelikans with OB and OM nibs (vintage and modern; the vintage offer more line variation) and a MB #342 with an OM nib. -- Pitralon forever - Real pens have a nib - If it doesn't tick, it's not a watch.
I have a Pelican 200 with an OM nib. Don't use it much. May have to ink it up this Sunday for sermon notes.
I have a couple calligraphy pens from.... rotring... that I use from time-to-time if I'm sending a special note to someone. But, otherwise, they don't see much use. I do like how they add a little class to my otherwise horrible handwriting. They are more of a squared off nib than a slant, but you get a similar effect. A flex slant (if you can find one) is a dream to write with.
Today's daily writer, a Pelikan M400 with a medium oblique nib. -- Pitralon forever - Real pens have a nib - If it doesn't tick, it's not a watch.
Interesting concept about being lefty that OB nib makes a difference I have a Montblanc Meisterstuck #146 for 30+ yrs as a lefty. Probably also depends on the angle of your hand on the paper. Definitely something distinctive about the quality of calligraphy on paper
