Gillette LC New - Feather (2)
Gem Clog Pruf - Gem Stainless (2)
    Semogue BC Texugo
    Iced Mandarin Arko
    Superior 70

Today I did the left side with the LC New and the right with the Clog Pruf. My initial thought during the shave was that they both felt very similar. My cheek feels smoother from the LC New, but my neck felt better from the Clog Pruf. It was a very nice shave but I will need to wait to see how long each side lasts. The mentholated arko stick is still treating me right too...

Interesting. My neck always seems to feel smoother with SE razors.

    Gillette Flair Tip Rocket
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Irisch Moos AS

Since @wristwatchb pointed out what the source of this blind sample may be, I am going to unofficially call this Formula H to avoid any copyright infringement issues. And, I did not take @Vlasta 's suggestion and take this cream where no cream has gone before. The scent was pleasant, and I can't compare to the other H cream, as I have not used it. My wife said it smelled like powder. It was fairly slick, and had some nice cushion. It took just a bit more effort to lather for me, but still did well. All in all a pretty good shave. I hope everyone has a great day!

    Prep: Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick
    Razor: Schick I1 injector
    Brush: JR #41 badger
Lather: Stirling Dirty South Shavers Fierce
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Dirty South Shavers Fierce aftershave
    WTG, touch up

Enjoyable shave with this combination. The I1 is a smooth injector, like the other Schicks, and always performs well. The Fierce soap and splash smell great and are pretty strong. Overall a nice all-around shave.

On another note I cleaned three of my brushes last night with a water/dish detergent soak followed by a water/vinegar soak followed by rubbing the bristles with some conditioner. Those three brushes feel much softer now with that treatment. I need to work on the others and get them all cleaned. I haven't cleaned any brushes since starting to use a brush about three years ago! Those first brushes I used are long gone though. But I've never cleaned anything in my current arsenal so it was time.

    Have a great day!

Great photo Jim. What is the difference between a Flair Tip Rocket and the regular Flair Tip?

Great photo Perry. I have found that my brushes seem to lather better after a cleaning. I think stuff gets built up in the center of the knot that impacts how the brush works. At least that is what I tell myself. :)

Thank you, Clint! I was actually wondering the same this morning. I PIF'ed my Flair Tip a long while ago, and honestly haven't shaved with one in a while. The local antique shop has one, so I may have to purchase it. All in the name of science, of course.

The closest I have now is the Red Tip or the black handle SS. The Rocket is obviously similar to these, but definitely has some noticeable differences in weight. I am actually consider a SS focus in the near future just to shave with all the different varieties of these wonderful razors.

Jim thanks for taking the time to answer. I was just curious. That would be a great focus. You would be able to note the differences more easily.

    '51 Gillette Ball-end Tech w Feather (1)
    Tabac
    Omega Pro/Walnut
    Thayers
P&G Old Spice AS/Stirling Spice balm
    image.jpg
The gear for this week was chosen for its neglect in my den. I don't think I've used the Tabac stick for a few months, at least. The humble Tech is often my travel razor, but I think I last travelled with it in the summer. I kept going with this great Omega knot to get it broken in. It is coming along nicely.
Face-lathered a great Tabac lather, and the Omega did a great job. The Feather was an assassin in the Tech. Great combo. 3 very smooth, enjoyable passes later and I am very near BBS. A sharp blade like this just sings in the Tech.
Finished with a splash of the P&G on my face, and some of the balm on my neck.
    Have a great day all!

After a few shave with the A plate I will use my 34C and compare the three. Honestly though, I have too many other razors that I don't have to fight with to get a good shave and no desire to hold on to a modern production if it isn't going to perform for me.

Beautiful picture and setting Doug. If that brush works half as good as it looks you have a winner. ;)
