  3. That is a gorgeous handle Randy! I just got an MS brush, we can compare notes on the knot.

  4. I'd join you in that SS focus, Jim. We don't have the same SSs, but I do have a '54 40s SS, a '59 Flare Tip and a #53/58 British Aristocrat Jr to use.
  5. I'm a little late to the party, but great photos Gentlemen! And, yes, you can compete Adam.
  6. As we complete the first half of November, Tri-Focus leads by 9, but not enough to call a victory as Turkey Baby may have something to say about it.
  7. Thank you all.
  8. This is a modified razor by Iron Town Razor Works in Utah. It is a Dubl Duck Special #1, made in the 40s or 50s. It was thier workhorse not pretty razor. The blade was blued out to almost black, and the scales are turquoise translucent acrylic. It’s a beautiful razor. I saw it listed on a raffle page and bought 2/3rds of the Spots.

If I ever find time to work on it, I have some purple translucent acrylic to work with.
  9. @BaylorGator, I think I found a copy of your receipt from the Thai restaurant.

  10. Thank you, Jason!
  11. Sounds like a plan!
  12. Thanks, Jason!
  13. Just so you know, Charlie, I broke my streak of "no two consecutive days in November with the same shave". I knew I 'd have difficult! But the NB18 pledge still stands :).
  14. I have no idea why Randy wanted to pass these on...oh well, his loss:

  15. Doug, your Red Tip keeps tempting me to abandon Focus. I might do as Neal did and try the blades that came with my Futur Clone in a Gillette...
  16. TGIF shave:

This razor is the thinnest grid razor I own, it feels like it is on the verge of flexing and the edge always feels sharp. I think the sharpness feeling comes from the very thin grind. Nick myself once but other than that no irritation, just short of the baby dolphin. Sample D felt very slick in the test lather but kept drying out.

    Irritation A Closeness A Smoothness A Sharpness A+

Razor: Drew Dick 5/8 extra hollow
    Stop: Mastro Livi
    Brush: T White B400
    Pre: Proraso
    Soap: Sample D
    AS: Edwin Jagger ASB
    Scent: Amouage Memoir Man

  18. Wooooooooo!
  19. Beautiful picture, Keith. Beautiful razor!
  20. Notice how if you announce you're thinking about a little vacation time, suddenly the work load triples? I got pages behind so here's a Wall-O-Text!

Very nice photo, and great combo. I got Inspired!

Yes, two great things that are wonderful together.

I discovered a liking for lime scented AS too late to try it or stock up. Time to start an E-mail campaign?

I tried the diluted vinegar soak. It softened the boar bristled brushes. If I have the chemistry right vinegar is an acid that helps remove mineral build up. Folks with hard water caused by calcium benefit from this procedure.
