Anecdotal and empirical evidence of synthetic being more efficient at face lathering?

 

Well, it certainly seems to work a treat for you during your Arko Challenge...

 

I've never tried it with anything but... I'm starting to think that the different fibers are each better suited for specific and different techniques.

 

I almost always face lather, and natural hair brushes work better for me. I prefer them, have spent more time using them, and have learned how to get consistently better lathers from them. I'm starting to get good lathers with my 30DC synthetic, but I'm still learning. If I predominantly used synthetics, I'm sure my lathers with them would be much better. But I'm not a girly man.

WOW! What a shave. The difference between the A plate and the standard plate on the MJ-90 is huge! It went from ineffective to a rock star! Also had my first shave with my new MS brush, this thing is massive and the knot is quite dense. A new tool is my arsenal in the war against the soap! The tips are soft, it has great backbone, and just a little scrub. It had no problem super gooping some Stirling MITA(the next sample on the chopping block). I like MITA, but I think I would like it more if the scent were strong enough to not smell the menthol in it. 3 passes brought home the baby and the Stirling PSB really moisturized my skin. Do you mostly face lather after loading from a tub of soap/cream or after squeezing from a cream tube, or do you mainly lather up soap rubbed on your face from shave sticks? I found I could face lather with my boar if I started off with it very heavily loaded from a "super gooped" tub of product, but got poor results using a shave stick.

 

I used boar, badger, and synthetic last month in a shave stick focus. Had success with all of them. I would push the brush down quickly all around my face to wet the lather before starting the full lathering process.

 

Playing with the door stops. My 20 month old still does that!

 

My daughter will be 2 years later this month, and that is still one of her favorite things.

 

Now it’s officially Friday. I bet he is motoring around now.

I have used my Omega Pro (27mm) Boar to face lather a Tabac Stick the past few mornings. I have found it an excellent face-latherer. To be honest, I often find shave sticks to have lather a little lacking on the 3rd pass compared to the first 2 (albeit on a small sample size of Palmolive and Tabac). I think this has been a little less so with this combo the past few days, although I don't know whether to credit the Omega, the Tabac or both.
