This is a big factor for me in enjoying Simpson synthetic knots. When they are loaded up plump, they splay like a dream and feel nearly identical to a good badger. I do not think “Soap Misers” will especially enjoy this brush. IMO, If it is not well loaded, it is hard to splay, and has too much backbone.

I find SE razors work better on my lower right neck than DE razors since they get the job done with less effort.

Thank you Jared. My wife is telling me I will be the one that misses them most. We will see.

I started with a nice relaxing shave this morning as I had gotten up before the rest of the house to get a quick work out, shower, and shave in. My 21 month old woke up just as I started shaving, so I had to rush to get her before my wife woke up. I did only one pass, which got me a SAS this morning. The soap seemed to be quite good, as did the razor. The scent of this soap is unlike any other Bay Rum I have, and I really like it. The AS smells terrific and feels good on the face. Second day off this week, and it will be busy getting ready for tomorrow. I hope everyone has a great day!

Wednesday morning November 22 - Simpsons all around

Simpsons Peppermint & Rosemary shaving cream
Alum & Clubman Osage Rub

I broke in the new Simpsons synthetic brush this morning. I wet the brush with hot water and then dipped the tips in the cream (as the Simpsons instructions for the brush and cream said to do). I then face lathered, using painting strokes mainly, also as recommended by Simpsons. I guess the cream is fairly concentrated as claimed, because the brush quickly started to work up a decent face covering for me. I ended up with three good passes of lather with at least another pass or two worth in the brush when I squeezed it out at the end. The brush was pillowy soft and really did feel like my badgers.

The cream has a great peppermint scent. I don't detect the rosemary individually in it, but I think it might be there as a sort of herbal base deepening the peppermint. Anyway, I really enjoyed it. It had a very very mild cooling effect as well.

A full three passes, the baby showed up to be put to work contrary to the infant labour laws, and the alum reported absolutely no irritation.

I have no postshave products that exactly match this scent, so I went with matching the cooling minty part and splashed on a tiny dash of Osage Rub. At the amount of Osage Rub I need to freeze my face each time, this bottle is going to last me until 2030...
