Thanks for the mini review, Jason. I think. Now I just have to scrub Sudsy Soapery off my mental list, along with First Canadian, B&M (which I have only tried in samples), and Stirling and Route 66 (which I have one puck of each). Otherwise, I could end up with a 30-year soap inventory instead of just 25...

 

It's not shaving related. It is made worse by shaving, though (and running, fwiw). It has come and gone a few times over the past few months, but I just don't see much of a point complaining about it anymore. What I need to do is get referred to a Dermatologist, which I have procrastinated in doing.

 

I'll just send you a couple of samples, John. No need to buy a full puck.

You've probably forgotten because this place has gone to hell in a handbasket and been devoid of any opinions or discussions worthy of merit since I left. Not to mention the crappy photography. You are welcome for me pointing this out to you, as you are severely in need of knowledge, good taste, and delicious pasta dishes! (Sorry, I had to dig deep and channel my inner "shavette fu" for that one.)

After detouring into a Simpsons mini-focus, I returned to the roots of my jettisoned November Rule and wielded my Semogue boar brush again. I tried super-gooping my puck of Mitchell's with it today and then face lathered with the result. It was an excellent lather; I think working with the Soap Destroyer for awhile has helped with this boar brush.

I went a full three passes and some buffing to bring the baby home. I paid for it though -- the alum was quite warm under my chin. The Thayers settled that down and then, in honour of Menthol Monday, I froze my face with a splash of Osage Rub.

Sorry to have been a bit sparse on shaving discussion on this thread. I've been trying to keep the conversation lively with an appropriate level of snark, as per above, whilst posting most of this month's shave related discussions (i.e. soap reviews) on THIS THREAD. Having said that, I stumbled upon a couple of soaps that are complete game changers for me -- Wholly Kaw and Grooming Department. To me, these two soaps outperform every other soap in my den by a wide margin. I mean the difference between College and Pro wide. If you haven't tried either one of these soaps, you owe it to yourself to, as they are just on another level. Don't get me wrong; I still love me some B&M, Stirling and several other soaps, but I'm really enjoying these two a lot right now. Good timing for Cyber Monday if you are a soap "collector" (i.e. hoarder) like I've become.
