I know you can melt down and pour glycerin soaps but can a microwave be used to loosen up a triple milled soap?

I have a puck of Fine i need to move to a different bowl and it is hard as a rock currently.

    I wouldn't try it.
Use a cheese grater and mash it into a bowl.

    Grating works really well.

Once you get it grated into a bowl, place a piece of waxed paper over it and you can press it down with the flat bottom of a glass.

I've loosened pucks by going around the edge with a knife to separate it from the mug. Works most of the time.

do NOT microwave. You will ruin the soap. Only glycerin-based can be melted. As the others have noted, grate it up instead.

:ashamed001: From Jim's reply, and re-reading your post, sounds like Jim has the answer.

I just microwaved it. Smells like Creed Aventus with a touch of smoke.........

I'll take a knife to it. May try a double boiler approach to help loosen the sides. I really dont want to grate it. I grated a vintage williams and didn't like how it came out. Grated an old spice puck and it came out great. So I am batting .500 on grating.

    Thanks for the feedback.

So you ask if it can be microwaved.
    You get three NO answers.
    Then you microwave anyway?

I actually placed a mug in very hot water one time after using a knife to loosen the edge. It was a stubborn soap to remove and I think it helped in removing it.
