I fell off the wagon today. I received my 22 mm Maggard Razors Black & White Synthetic Shaving Brush in the mail and decided to use it in place of the Soap Destroyer. I plan on this being my travel brush. I'm not that great with synthetic brushes, so I figured it would take a few shaves to get it dialed in. I loaded it for about a minute off the puck of Mike's Natural Soap, until the knot appeared to be full of soap. I face lathered, and I couldn't have asked for better performance. It has a perfect balance of softness and backbone, and it releases the lather very easily. The little guy (compared to my CH2) produced plenty of thick, cushiony lather for my two-pass plus touch-up shave. It's a fantastic brush for $12, and I'm happy to add it to my travel kit.

Now that I satisfied my curiosity, I'll return to the Soap Destroyer tomorrow. I plan to continue with the GSB blade for a couple more shaves; however, it didn't feel quite as smooth today. I hope everyone is doing well. I'm enjoying all the beautiful SOTD photographs. Carry on!

I'm a little late in joining the chorus of accolades for today's great photos. Well done, Gentlemen! You even made the Mach 3 look good, Jim @Norcalnewb !

    Razor: Gillette Red Tip
    Blade: Personna Tungsten (22)
Brush: El Druida Red Heart Chakte Kok/African Blackwood 2 Band
    Soap: Nuavia Blu
    A/S: Floid Blue
    Scuttle: Junichi Tanaka Blue

I am very tired of this setup. I have been getting great shaves each and every time, except when I don't screw up the water, soap effect. When I open my Doug's Den I hear brushes, razors, and After shaves screaming at me to use them. Only 2 more days and it will be mission accomplished. :happy088:
I'm also running out ideas for SOTD photos. :)

Hmmm. Maybe send that setup to me just to see if I tire of it as well? For science, of course. ;)

    Another great photo Doug!

That's a truly chilling photo today, Doug. Are you sure you aren't carrying the Cold Water Shave idea just a little far?

Anyway, congratulations on nearly completing both a Rule and SOTD photos of the Rule - neither is easy, especially when you have as much great gear in the Den waiting to be unleashed as you have.

Although that particular brush manages to look stunning for a month of photos with no trouble at all. If you ever get tired of it, do feel free to send it my way. It would be a huge sacrifice on my part, but purely to help you out, I would force myself to take it off your hands. ;)

Great pic Amigo. Honestly I am tired of Nuavia after rotating the Blu and Rossa every day for the month. My hat's off to you for a completing a Rule. :eatdrink047:
