Thank you for the details Charlie! Thanks to @celestino, too. I did pretty much the same procedure using a similar product. I wasn't sure about creams or lotions that had Shea Butter as an ingredient, and I recalled you mentioning USB.

Do you store it in the refrigerator?

During the cooler time of the year I get dry skin around my eye brows. I've used different lotions or creams with less than desirable results. My mother has been using a product that's made with lanolin and petroleum jelly on her hands. I'll share a bit of this USB with her, too.

November 28 - Warming up for DECember

Razor - Delta Echo NEW LC
    Blade - kai-stainless.jpg (1)
    Soap - Tabac
Brush - Wolf Whiskers Custom Silvertip
    Post - Alum

We are only three days from December 1st. Wow. Did this month ever disappear. And, of course, December brings Decadent December around here. So, after a night with the binder clip, I decided to warm up a bit for a more decadent experience. I grabbed the New LC in full Delta Echo glory and paired it with a Kai blade. For those of you who want something sharp like the Feather (though that is subjective, but still), the Kai is an awesome choice. Especially if you find the Feather to be a bit on the harsh side. Kai's seem to have the sharpness but shave a bit smoother and are a tad more forgiving, at least for me. And, they are Japanese so the Yakuza Cartel can't complain if you use these instead of Feathers.

Tabac and the Wolf for the fine classic lather. Slick, protective, perfect. The shave was two passes with a bit of touch up, mostly around the cut from last night. It's barely noticeable until you start shaving around it. I didn't reopen it but took it easy and worked around it a bit. My neck took an extra couple of diagonal passes, which is normal, and the baby easily walked in and sat down for the night. Doesn't get much easier than that. Alum was silent except on last night's cut where it threw me a stinger. No worries.

Still working out a setup(s) for DECember but I'm looking forward to it. I'll have a couple of surprises along the way as well, but I do plan to put together some of my best gear throughout the month. Can't pass up the chance to enjoy life when you can!

That sounds great, Rick. It should work great for both you and your mom. I store my container under the sink in the bathroom, and it's fine. I used to have an extra container, and I stored that one in the fridge. I actually have a small basket in my basement fridge filled with all my shaving software that is not currently in rotation. I hope this helps!

I bought the brush on Etsy a couple of years ago and don't remember the vendor. I think the knot was either TGN or Whipped Dog.

Is Decadent December a thing? I am under pressure from @Keithmax to shoot my horse in the Arko Challenge, and move on.

I understand there are some shavers out there who use nothing but Arko their entire lives and never "move on"... I just never realized until you started your challenge that they actually used the same stick that whole time...

It is indeed a thing. However, just because something is cheap doesn't mean it can't be decadent! It's how it performs that counts! Considering how easy it is to lather and how slick and cushy Arko is , calling it part of a decadent shave isn't out of the question. Ok, so it's no high end, expensive, super-moisturizing vegan based and tiny batched artisan soap - but that's not the total criteria.

Maybe that's why they never "moved on". I can hear them saying "I'll try something new when this stick runs out"..........and it never does. Genius idea by Arko.

Yes Arko is decadent, yes the horse is cute....

    But....

    This stick of Arko must.....

But it looks like it's only "mostly dead". I would guess it has at least another six weeks to two months of life left in it. And that's without even having Miracle Max revive it...

I like Jeeves of Hudson Street products quite a bit. It’s also a local company to me, and I have met the owner a few times. The Cherry Blossom is my favorite scent, followed by his Fougere, witch he only made in limited quantities.

I agree Adam. I have 2 of their soaps and I like both. I'm not sure if they will make them any more, but they are great. Veteran made to boot.

All the hardware and software are working well together. The big 400 has such a massive feel on the face that adds so much to the lathering experience. I really like this brush for a change of pace. I decided to stick with the same 3 pass pattern of XTG, ATG and XTG followed by touch ups on my jawline and lower neck. The end result was a near perfect shave. Really for a quick shave on a work morning, I would be hard pressed to do better. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
