Rum and Coke shave with a Swedish twist...

A/S: Derby City Chop Shop Shave Tonic (aka Bay Rum)
    Soap: The Sudsy Soapery Cola
    Razor: CV Heljestrand MK6
    Brush: Simpson Chubby 1

The Heljestrand is sleek and classy, dare I say... sexy. :sexe:

    BEAUTIFUL scales on this page!
I didn't see this on the phone, but now on a computer, these are mesmerizing! They look to have so much depth.

And I love this color, texture and how the backing works with it. Amazing razor.

    Thank you all for sharing!

Thanks! Those Japanese really know their cutlery both in function and form. An absolute gem of a razor, and one that will stay with me till the end. I just wish the secret wasn't out on the Japanese straights. The prices lately have been climbing.

Some time ago I got this stone on eBay and sent it off to @gssixgun for his take on it’s origin. Lo and behold it’s a rare yellow-green Thuringian. Last night I put four razors through a refresh using it as the finisher and picked one today to see how it did. Using the stone was easy-peasy, a real delight. The result was a superb shave with my 1956 ZTV Extra. These Russkies have some hard steel but it sure took to this stone. :happy093:

Tonight's shave was with one of China's Finest. I had a very smooth 2 pass shave, that left me near BBS. One tiny nick, exactly where I did it the other day. I guess it wasn't healed yet.

Razor- Chinese "ZY 430" Pro Extra Sharp, No Stain.
    Brush- Stirling, Boar
    Soap- Arko/Sandalwood
    Aftershave- Family Dollars Spice.

Thanks, Brian! It was sent to me by Adam when I was an open blade newbie. Going from shavette to spike is fun! It went well. I do full face shaves, so round points are all I really need. Broke this one out today in honor of the gift soap. :) I used the @Drygulch 45 Black Latigo today, 30 on leather and then 20 on the web. Blade felt pretty good, and it ended up DFS. Days like today are why I use a shavette. It's nice to be able to just pick up a vintage straight and go-to-town when the urge strikes.
