So I’m looking for suggestions for a new razor I would like to stay around 60 bucks I have been using a merkur 23c for the last 2 years which was my first DE I upgraded the handle to the bass line by chiseled face. But looking for a new one want to try anew style I have been eyeing the adjustable but absolutely hate the Futurs style. Have also been considering an open comb. Not really wanting a vintage at this point any suggestions would be appreciated

Well there are quite a few to choose from. Are you looking at aggressive or mild or a medium aggressive razor? If you are looking for adjustable there is the Parker Variant which is about $50. Then there are ikon razors that are 3 piece . They have various head and handles that you can select and could be had for under $60. You may even be able to get a couple of different type heads and a handle.

Rockwell 6C three piece, three base plates, six settings. $60.00. Love mine, gives great shaves.

Edit: did a typo, meant $50.00.

I have the variant and it’s an awesome razor . I don’t know what mixed reviews you read but it’s an excellent razor. They had quality control issues when they first launched but now not so much.

Been a long time since I've priced modern options, so I'm no help.
But I will say welcome to the Den!
Hope you find what you're looking for!

Muhle R41. The 2011 version closed the door on RADS for me.

    PROGRESS

For what it's worth, if I'd have found the progress first, I seriously doubt I'd have a collection of razors. I would have looked no further. (Or should that be farther?) I prefer it over the variant (just my opinion).
Another near perfect (imho), Above the Tie Calypso R1 . I get home runs every time i use that one. It's a bit higher than the budget, but I'd buy it again. If that means anything.
If cheaper, pearl tto open comb (neat aspect, very low price).
If looking for aggressive, the Tampa Shave Company has a razor he calls a chrome shorty. Its very aggressive, heavy, and has a nice look to it. But it does bite.

I think I’m gonna go with the Rockwell 6c I like the variety of bases it comes with to personalize it for you seems like a nice feature. Took a little time to find it it’s out of stock on their site. I did see the model T they have for preorder looks pretty sweet too

Rockwell 6C, bought mine new for $40 and love it. My favorite baseplates are the R4 & R5 .. one of my best performing razors that i use often. I really can't imagine a better razor for the $40 i spent
