Great pic. Jeeves is excellent soap. Easily in a standoff to be in my top three.

 

I'm in for the month. I think an immediate focus for me will be to see if I can handle a "warm-ish" fragrance on a "warm-ish" day. The consistent cold weather has not arrived yet. You fellas know how I am with the weather&shave combos. I won't be doing the opposite, such as using Stirling Glacial Wintergreen Soap on Christmas. But I had WSP Sandalwood Soap and A.S. on today, even though it was 49. Two days next week in the 50's. Must have a strategy. Another focus, as the month progresses, will be to make the finishing purchases for NB18. One has been reported as being shipped, but it's being delayed.

 

That is a great brush. Just great. @Jayaruh really outdid himself with that one.

I would like to get one of their kamis. I don’t own one, and I am sure pleased with the blade on my Hydra.

I was lucky enough to get one from John @Screwtape . Yup, a great shaver.

 

For lather, absolutely. The Apothecary is too lightly scented to ever make my ‘top’, but for performance? No question.
I might just use Rick’s @RyX ’s technique and add some AS to the lather.

 

Absolutely. Not that he needs my compliments, but that type of lamination is not easy in the least. Very cool.

Wow! I'm excited to create my first ever 30-day rule post, and especially for Decadent December. If you don't know, I did not do any face shaves in November. I did head shaves, but I let the facial hair grow, and grow and itch, and drive me a little nuts. My wife asked me to grow the beard out. She's asked me for many years to grow her a beard after I retired and when I left work, we negotiated. I agreed to NO SHAVE NOVEMBER (face only)... and after watching me suffer the last couple of weeks she agreed to let me shave it on 12.01.2017... however, I left the goatee (which doesn't bother me much at all). So I was delighted to whip up a great face lather from the VDH soap with the Omega brush.

Next, I was excited to use the Futur Clone I acquired more than a month ago from Andrew's Shave Shop (@Linuxguile ) . When it first arrived I couldn't wait and I tried a head shave with it... bad move on my part. I didn't suffer injury. I just didn't have the right technique or coordination to handle the weight, or figure out the proper setting so I switched quickly.

This morning, I loaded a new Wilkinson-Sword blade in the Clone and I opted to set it at 6, i.e., maxing out that blade exposure. After all, I had a month's worth of whiskers to cut down. I put the razor cap to my face and brought it slowly down to where I could feel the blade and proceeded slowly. I had to use short strokes because of the length and depth of the whiskers, but it rinsed out easily with a quick flick in the sink water. I was impressed with the performance of this razor, the blade and shaving soap this morning. After two passes and some clean-up I can say the baby came for a visit today!
