    Saturday shave:

Decadent equipment but not a decadent results. I was hoping to nail my 3rd epic shave in a row, but not even close. The edge felt fine but the lather was just not what I need to nail the epic shave. I love the scent but I am going to have to work how to get the lather I want out of this soap.

    Irritation B+ Closeness A- Smoothness A Sharpness A

    Razor: Koraat 7/8 half hollow
    Stop: SRD
    Brush: Thäter 2 band
    Pre: Nivea
    Soap: Chiseled Face
    AS: Speick AS, L’Ocitanne
    Scent: Zoologist Civet

    Way to lay low, Jason!

My re-education at the gulag was one of the highlights of the year, honorable comrade. That post must have been caused by a glitch in the matrix.

Sounds like a big time, brother! Snap some selfies...

I've had a "modified goatee" for years, and it's pretty much required by SWMBO. She likes facial hair, so that's the compromise. You know the drill, no doubt...happy wife, happy life! :)

The RV7 easily loaded the MdC easily. While face lathering I added water slowly several times to achieve a rich slick lather with the plushness of the brush adding to the experience. Three passes and touch ups ended in a near perfect shave with no nicks, weepers and irritation. As I rinse my face, I am reminded how clean the MdC leaves my face compared to some other soaps. This is likely due to the lack of additives for post shave feel. A splash of Agua Balsamica continued the herbal theme of shave. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

In my experience I am completely unable to get the lather I want from Chiseled Face. I love the scents, and it makes a huge explosive lather, perfect for a quick DE shave. But if it has a sweet spot where a guy can mix a bowl full of shiny wet lather that’s gonna hold up through a four pass straight shave, I have been unable to find it.
