I'm making a few mental notes from this post. If only I can remember them later....
Sounds about like my shave yesterday. And I did shower first, and I didn't go ATG for the first pass. You may have fared out better than me. You can (almost) chalk that up to a stunt shave. I have to say that I was completely at fault.
Thanks for the entertaining post though!

Ouch. I can pull a first pass ATG with some of my Artist Club razors but I can’t imagine doing it with a TTO Gillette.

Wow, I am rich, I'm rich! According to an email I just received, I have hit the jackpot! Apparently, as part of the UN's 2017 Poverty Eradication Program, I have been awarded the whopping sum of TWO MILLION dollars! This money is now sitting in a courier company office in an armored briefcase and all I have to do is pay the writer of the email a few trifling sums for shipping and security and that briefcase is mine!!!

Who would ever have dreamed that I could have such luck?!!!

Naturally, I plan to share the wealth. As soon as the briefcase arrives, I intend to buy everyone on the 30DC a Kent BK12 brush. :). In preparation, while we wait for the briefcase to show up, would you all care to let me know if you would like your Kent BK12 brushes in Ivory, Horn or Black handles? :p:D:happy102::happy097::angry032:

I must admit I was a bit surprised to receive this email as I thought the UN's Poverty Eradication Program was solely directed at UN bureaucrats and their friends... Who knew?

Well, with some of the recent deregulation of the Coal industry and various promises made by politicians, I'm surprised that someone hasn't tweeted about how coal is the perfect Holiday stocking suffer. :p

    DECember 3 SOTD:

    30DC LE Brush
    WSP Mahogany
    Gem Junior Bar
    Stirling Synthetic Brush
    WSP Mahogany AS

This soap and AS a decadent for me due to my wife's preference for the scent. They are certainly good performers, but my wife always comments when I wear the AS. What can be more decadent than that? The razor shaves so well. The whole shave was a great set up to the day.

That is what I mostly do. I have a big suribachi bowl that works great. When the knot is wetted, a guy can squeeze it tight and load out of the wider tubs, but it takes forever and it’s messy.

I'm glad she likes the Mahogony.....that may well be my second WSP choice.

    Thank you, guys.

The PauP is one of my favorite soaps. It is one of my wife’s favorites, so that helps.

Sunday afternoon December 3 - Shave Cream Challenge #D

Delta Echo Ink black Gillette Black Beauty on 4 / Topaz Platinum (1)
30DC LE Maple Cashmere synthetic brush
    Vlasta Mystery Cream D
Alum and Soapy Bathman Italian Almond balm

This cream lathered easily and persisted through my two passes. Good cushion and slickness, so I had a good shave. It's a mildly mentholated product, giving a cooling sensation throughout the shave and for a few minutes afterwards. However, it left my face feeling dry, so I then applied the balm.

I'm not sure about this particular Soapy Bathman product. It smells exactly like my Italian almond soaps as I expected. However, when I applied to to my face, I got a burning sensation all over for a minute or two, which I didn't get yesterday with the Cup of Joe balm. The feeling went away after a minute or so but left my face feeling a bit warm although well moisturized. I am wondering if (a) some perfume or essential oil in the balm reacted to the menthol or something else in this cream or (b) if I have an allergic reaction to some perfume in this balm. I will try it again tomorrow (after using a different cream) and see what happens...

Other than that, a good shave with hardware I like and some interesting software.
