Lots of love for Stirling Ozark Mountain on here today. I LOVE that scent as well. I used Scots Pine this morning but after using it I longed for the scent from Ozark Mountain. It's terrific.

My selections for decadence should have taken me there, but fell a bit short. Sapocino Verisino lather whipped up by a LE Semogue Barbera Boar, and mowed down for the break-in run of my newly replated 18kt gold Aristocrat. Somehow it didn't quite get there. Less slickness, cushion and scent from the soap than expected, and a bit more audible feedback and less glide from the Aristocrat than I remember, requiring me to really ride the cap to get a clean shave. Maybe I just have bad mojo from my last shave. Maybe the moon is out of sync. Who knows. Tomorrow I'll give the aristocrat another run with Grooming Department and a Thater. That should knock up the decadent factor a bit.

Dang...I shoulda saw that coming. So hard to answer. But...Ozark Mountain, Island Man, Barbershop.

I could break their scents down into a lot of different categories, but those are likely my "favorite". Ozark is a base scent in my year round rotation. Island Man IS summer. Barbershop IS winter. They get helped out by their Stirling seasonal brethren but they are the stars.

    Subject to change. :)

Ok...I'm getting Tabac dialed in. Saturday's shave was just miserable. I don't solely blame my poor lathering, but it didn't help matters. Yesterday and today I changed gears a little and bowl lathered, adding water a little at a time. I've determined that it wasn't a lack of product that was my issue. I loaded for about the same amount of time. Sorry Jared @PickledNorthern, I didn't get out my measuring spoons, scale, or stopwatch. :D

Today I kept adding water, and adding more, and adding more. I never did break the lather, but I got it where the peaks started to droop and the lather was shiny. Ah, ha! Slickness! Even after a pass, there was some residual slickness, which I certainly didn't have Saturday. There was still about enough left after my shave for a number of others to have a three-passer!

I kinda felt guilty rinsing my bowl out and washing all that goodness down the drain.

All in all, a pretty good shave. Not my absolute best work, but still pretty good!

Hope everyone is having a great Monday (or at least as great of a Monday as possible)!

Sorry guys. I'm not feeling very decadent today. Getting ready to attend a funeral of a great man who I have known for more than 30 years. A wonderful friend, mentor, and fellow retired colleague. He will be missed by many.
Wanted to have a quick, easy shave and it was. I hope every will have a wonderful week!

Bruce, I don't think you can over hydrate Tabac. You probably could have added a few more rounds of water and have been fine. Some people on here may hate me for saying this, but I think Tabac is slicker then Stirling :scared003:. Don't get me wrong, I love Stirling, but solely based on performance Tabac is #1 in my den.

A pack of 5 came as part of a PIF I received a while back.
Not a bad blade, but I won't be buying any.
Astra SP and an Israeli brand packaged for the BX/PX are the only two I've purchased over the past 5-6 years.
