You as well, Charlie. FWIW, the bowl is big enough for cornflakes, but the knobs on the bottom would make it unpractical, as would the residue of Tabac.

Thank you, Clint, for the kind words. Young, newly married guys, take note of Clint's self-gifting strategy. Masterful.

You guys are way too kind. I always look forward to seeing your beautiful photos and set ups each day!

Thank you, Jethro! The Chubby has been a fun brush to use. Congrats on getting the Parker. I had one but PIF'd it before I ever used it. I may eventually get another one. Safe travels this week, my friend, and say hello to Granny for me.

    Yeah, I knew. It’s awesome.

I will try some with the new base. It is on my list for the next time I order something from Maggard’s.

Noooo.....even Arko haters would be happy with a sniff of Arko once they disembarked the airplane and got a whiff. There are several companies there who process soy and corn. Not a pleasant smell.
I happen to be one who loves the scent of Arko! :)

Bruce, I am Arko lover here too! I love the performance of the soap itself and all the "humor" surrounding it.

BTW, we use corn for other things here in my neck of the woods. :)

Tuesday morning December 5 - launching the Soap Aircraft Carrier

Delta Echo Ink black Gillette Black Beauty on 4 / Topaz Platinum ( 1 )
Kent BK12 aka The Soap Aircraft Carrier
My Red Green Duct Tape Special frankensoap
Alum and Soapy Bathman Italian Almond balm

I took another day off the Vlasta Mystery Cream Challenge to launch my first Carrier-class brush. I loaded the brush with my Italian almond frankensoap from the tub super goop style, then face lathered. The brush is big enough that it practically covers the side of my face before I even take a stroke. Using it is sort of like moving a small pillow around my face. When I was done my full three passes and touchups, I squeezed the knot and got a small lather bowl of thick cream out of it - probably enough soap for another two days of shaves with a smaller brush.

Lathering with this brush felt luxurious to say the least. And it would definitely have made a soap miser weep bitter tears.

The shave was an effortless three passes and some touchups to a complete BBS. No heat from the alum.

The end of the shave was another matter. I applied the Soapy Bathman Italian Almond balm and got all the heat I missed from the alum and then some. For the first minute, my whole face felt painfully stinging hot, then the feeling subsided to a mild warmth. My skin does feel soft and well hydrated. However, I am going to contact the maker and see if I can figure out what is going on. I don’t seem to experience the same sensation with their Cup of Joe balm. (In fact I just washed my face to remove any Italian Almond residue and applied a soothing coat of Cup of Joe instead.)

Tomorrow it will be back to the Mystery Shave Cream Challenge using a normal-sized brush.

The brush sounds wonderful. It very well might be a reaction to either a particular fragrance or essential oil. I hope you get it figured out.
