Living in serious Norwegian country in northern MN, I see lots of rosemauling, but that is something special.

Dan @sdguero, add me to the list of admirers of your wife's talent. Is the underlying bowl porcelain, pottery or wood?

Razor: Timeless Smooth Cap w/ Hempel Ti
    Blade: Feather Platinum Coated (5)
Brush: Elite Razor Tres Amigos Desert Ironwood Beehive w/Envy White
    Soap: Reef Point Soap Tranquility
A/S: Reef Point Soap Command Presence Balm
    Bowl: Timeless

Not difficult to get good shaves with these tools. I am a little unsure of the Reef Point Soap. It works up a good lather, however, I'm not a big fan of the scent or the drying effect on my face when I finish shaving. The Reef Point Soap Command Presence Balm does come to the rescue.

    I’m not gonna ask. :p

Arko is magical to me, the way the lather just explodes. It takes a bunch of water to get it slick after the lather is there. Performs way above its price point. And, it makes for great jokes! What’s not to love?

Looks like a bowlful of greatness Sir! The bowl itself if a work of art too! Nice write up!

Edit: Posted before I saw that your wife painted it. She has serious talent!

Great photo Doug. Curious have you had the drying effect with other Reef Point Soaps? Just goes to show you YMMV, the Tranquility has been my favorite Reef Point scent. It is very similar to Czech and Speake Oxford & Cambridge. I pick up Peppermint over a base of Lavender in both but the Reef Point soap scent is stronger with much more peppermint. I will only rebuy one so the jury is still out on which one will make the cut. If you are not a fan of the scent, I would not buy Fine Lavender since it is a dead ringer for Cambridge & Oxford.

Well, Sir! I’ll have you know that I DID manage to get slickness out of Tabac!

I think blooming played a big part! :happy108:

It's been a rainy gloomy day here so that might have something to do with my mood. I know I have liked Tranquility in the past and have even said it was my buy again Reef Point Soap. I'll give it a few more shave. Thanks for your kind words on the photo.
Thanks for calling me out on it. :happy088:

Not calling you out on it at all Amigo. I was just curious if other Reef Point soaps were drying. At least the Tranquility is a better scent than the Dragon's Blood. That one was really outside my comfort zone. ;)

    Thanks, John. I've been a long-time admirer too. ;)

The bowl is hand-carved wood which she got from a wood carver. She sanded it, leaving the inside of the bowl somewhat rough (for better lather making action), stained it, painted it, and then water-proofed it. She's been supportive of my Shaving Hobby, and wanted to make me something I could use. She actually made me two bowls. The other one is smaller in diameter but has more depth. They're perfect when I only want to make a small amount of lather instead of the uber-lather I crave but have no need for.
