Delta Echo Ink black Gillette Black Beauty on 4 / Topaz Platinum ( 2 )
30DC LE Maple Cashmere synthetic brush
    Vlasta cream sample E
Alum and Jeeves of Hudson Street Barbershop splash

Today's mystery cream was one that I found usable but not fabulous. It was good enough to let the hardware do its job, however, and the splash at the end provided a scent and a face feeling that was truly luxurious.

Hope everyone is doing well here at mid-week.

Day 5 with the Monobilt, 2nd day with the Nacet. Next up in the sample rotation is Baker St. Love this scent and face-lathered a nice Stirling lather. 3 smooth passes later, with a little touch up, and I am BBS. Finished with the excellent Cool.
This Cooper, after 5 days, is turning into one of my favourites. I’ve got it dialed in, I think, but am still looking forward to the next 8 days or so with it.
    Have a great day all!

Thanks! The Stephan aftershave is great. I decanted it into hot sauce bottles, and added menthol crystals. A lot of them. Unlike most of my cheap barbershop ones, it has more than just alcohol in it, and the scent actually sticks around. When I finish my Masters Lilac Vegetol, I will probably try the Stephan one. Of course, at my current rate of use that could be three or four years from now.

    Fantastic setup, Rick!
    Epic!
Great setup Adam! 6 grams of soap per shave??? that has to be a record! Maybe I should start sousing.
Good stuff, Neal! I love when I have to check to see if I put a blade in the razor!
    Great pic, Clint!
Cool shot Charlie, I'm rather surprised that the Astra is still going, I've always felt that longevity was the one area they were lacking in.
Awesome photo, Mark! I love that Triad handle!
    Awesome Diplomat, Jim!
I think VDH delux is a good soap, especially for the price.
    Great shave, Perry!
Stunning brush, Jason! And of course Cooper love!

As expected the photos today have been great guys. I do enjoy reading all the listings for the SOTD and commentary whether a photo is posted or not. I get a lot info and ideas from the posts.

    Razor: '48-'50 Gillette Milord
    Blade: Treet Platinum (4)
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22
    Cream: KMF fragrance-free
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

For yesterday's and today's shaves, I moved from the Aristocrat Adjustable to a slightly more humble bit of decadence- an NDC Milord. It is the humble little brother to Neal's Aristocrat; a gold-plated version of the equivalent year's SuperSpeed intended as a gift item. This one came bare (no case) from a vague but fortuitous eBay auction two years ago. It was totally crusted in black gunk but is actually in beautiful shape save some loss of gold plating on the doors and safety bars. Definitely a razor whose history I wonder about.

The bottom line was two BBS's with no issues. The blade seemed a bit buggy today, though, so I went ahead and retired it after the shave. Tomorrow is the anniversary of Pearl Harbor, so I'm thinking a wartime/military razor may be in order.

On a different note, I finally decided what to do about the knot in my 30DC LE brush. I'm going to stay with the Virginia Sheng Pure Badger but added a quarter under it for a bit more loft. I think I like the look a bit more that way. The silicone glue is still setting so first use will either be tomorrow or Friday. BTW, it is definitely hard to walk into Home Depot and ask for Silicone adhesive. The minute you use the "S" word, they send you to the caulk isle. I finally had to ask where the epoxies were and look for it myself.

Today’s shave was brought to me by the following:

    Razor: WCS
    Brush: JR216
    Bowl: WCS
    Soap: Tabac

When I got home last night from work, my new lather bowl was waiting for me. Needless to say, it had to be used this morning. Great shave from this setup today. The Tabac lathered up well...and very slick too, Neal @NCoxSTL !

Two easy passes with a little touch up and I’m good to go! A good shave without much effort is my idea of decadent. The post shave feel of Tabac was nice enough that I skipped the witch hazel and aftershave.

Today was the Timeless Bronze and @Jayaruh 223 easily managing the lather from a well bloomed Agar puck. Polsilver made it's debut in the den. 2 passes and some touch-up makes a DFS.

    Enjoy your day men.[IMG]

Ever-Ready 200T (Frigate Class, 24mm TGN Finest Bulb)
    Stirling MITA

This prototype razor is turning out to be a real gemstone, its a shame that Schick didn't bring it to market. Even when you give it a little bit more of an aggressive angle it doesn't feel harsh at all. Another face freeze with the MITA, I'll have to check how many shaves I have on this sample because after my next shave on it I will have about a 3/4" to a 1" wide ring of soap in the tub. I think this is the fastest I've ever used soap, thanks to super goop loading. Three passes almost brought home the baby, but he scurried away and I was too tired to give chase. Have a great day my friends!

Great news on the brush. They do hide that stuff in Home Depot.

    Great photo and lineup

Love the Timeless Bronze. I do wish they would add a model with a bit more blade gap.

Great photo. That would have been a great looking razor to bring to market.
