SOTD December 7, 2017 Prep: Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap Blade: Schick Razor: Schick G4 '66' injector Brush: Surrey two-band badger Lather: Soap Commander Vision Post: Witch hazel, Speick aftershave WTG, touch up I was inspired by @EzraCobb to get my Schick 66 out again. This razor is one of three quite recent acquisitions. It's smooth! Really enjoyable to use. Today's shave was easy and comfortable. Nice results. Have a great day!
Thanks Perry - I really love this shave and picture - Speick!!! Schick 66 ! Soap Commander - all great - Peace - jamie
Thur 7th December My Third Vintage SE Shave, after trialling the modern SE/Gem Razor -Sabre V1. These oldies are a whole lot more aggressive than the Sabre, and IMHO produce a closer Shave. Today I used an ER1914 , and it never ceases to amaze me that I can get such a good shave with a Razor with such a short handle. It is noisy though !
Thanks, Jamie! I didn't have a terrific aftershave to match with this scent. Speick is neutral and fades quickly so it worked great. I am wondering about some Stirling Glacial Spearmint for this scent.
I posted this rare SCHICK GRIP Razor - black handle and Type N head - Really Mild and this was a first shave with a vintage Gillette Injector plus platinum blade - (i have used the Gillette twinjector - never these) and no where near the sharpness of its contemporary schick plus platinum blades - so i had zero fear of getting a weeper. The shave felt like the mild DERBY DE blade which I loved when I was still a neubie DE shaver. So an hour after the shave I was amazed at how close the shave really was - so this injector blade is certainly different and a nice change of pace - very mild and smooth blade with a mild injector....
Great shave and photos! I often feel more smooth an hour or so after the shave with SEs or injectors. Not sure why!
I have glacial Wintergreen from stirling - man oh man it freezes!! I love it and my 8 year old daughter gabby loves all my wierd scents - she says i smell like tooth paste - of course my wife despises all menthol type after shaves, but thats fine with me. but yes speick dont last - great for night shaves- being a night shaver - I also get to splash some A.s. and balm in the mornings - for the day I usually chose PAA/CK... but today i did the master topaz with a squire of COnfidence balm and i mix it in my balm - the mixture of the 2 scents are HEAVEN!
I TOTALLY agree- and I thought i was crazy for saying it - i get that feeling even more with these vintage blades from the 1970s- I occasionally see them on the cheap on ebay - these blades were cheap - i also love the look of the magazine - very retro

It’s OK, but I wouldn’t buy it again had I used it first. I can get just as good shaves with my Edwin Jagger DE89 and a Feather blade. It is beautifully made and does give very nice shaves, but I could have purchased a gorgeous straight for the money.
