My wife made some lotion bars for our hands, using the same type of unrefined shea butter, coconut oil, vitamin E oil, bee's wax, and EOs. I listed a link to the recipe she started with sometime in the last five days or so. I actually used some this morning. Its a little smoother than straight USB, but still has to melt it's way into your skin. I put it on, wait about 10 min, and wipe off the excess. I'm curious how your concoction works, because I might try to make some at some point. I love freezing mentholated alcohol splashes, but sometimes I need to add some moisture back to my face. In my brain I was just picturing a hillbilly (moonshine) and a dirty hippie (patchouli oil) standing next to your bottle deciding if they were going to work together. I may or may not be behind on sleep this week.

The hooch burns on the way down and tastes a little like dirt, but the Shea butter soothes your throat afterwards and rounds out the flavor a bit. Genius!

That's a beauty! One word of warning, if you splay it all the way out on your face, be careful not to get soap in your eye. Its a big brush.

Great recap and picture Rick. The experimental concoction sounds interesting.

    Pre-shave: warm water wash
    Brush: Omega Boar
    Soap: Proraso white
Razor: Ming Shi set at #3
    Blade: Wilkinson-Sword (7)
Post-shave: Assured WH, Afta Fresh AS skin conditioner, Skin Bracer AS

Showered early this morning but didn't have time to shave... at least I didn't want to cut corners and rush it so I just left the stubble and left the house. I opted to shave early this afternoon and enjoy it. I did.

I had not used the Proraso white for several months and I wondered why as I lathered up and spread it on my face. It was pleasant, nice mild scent, and provided a protective shield as I sliced through the stubble with this blade on its 7th use. Although the blade is still performing but normally I don't go past use #7 on a blade. Maybe I'll stay with it tomorrow.

I moved the razor's setting to #3. I sensed more blade today compared to the lower settings but it was still mild, still comfortable and I nearly achieved BBS... but not quite.

When I told my wife I was off to shave... I had to get my "shave of the day out." She smiled, got really excited, and jumped up and said she was going to "create" the setting for my shave of the day photo. While I was busy shaving, she was busy creating 2 different backgrounds for the SOTD photo and I got to decide. One option was a Christmas background which I really liked, but I thought was too soon... the one I settled on included some sharp, cutting instruments because I know many of you love that stuff. ;)

Hope all are having great shaves, or at least having fun seeking them.

I got a new shave bowl courtesy of my sister. She is a ceramic artist in Boise, Idaho and we collaborated on this. She owns Boise Mudworks. @Douglas Carey has a couple of her bowls as well.
