As of now the plan is Rose, but the Sheep is really a spectacular soap. It's a shame that I have waited this long to try it. If it weren't for a generous PIF of Stirling Gentleman from @Bama Samurai a while ago, I probably would have never tried any of the Stirling offerings.
My next Stirling shave will be Saturday with the Sheep because I have to give some other stuff I've neglected. Gotta be fair, right?
@PickledNorthern - Since you have Soap Commander Vision what would you think about pairing it with Glacial Spearmint as the aftershave? Similar scents at all?
Vision reminds me of clean laundry hanging on a clothesline. The menthol/mint level is right in between Proraso and a Stirling Chill soap. The mint to me, is more of a feel than a scent. I think the Wintergreen would match up nicely though. It certainly would compliment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Barbershop today. I'll be rocking this a lot this winter. I really need to get the matching aftershave. So good. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
The Rose is really good. I don’t know how to say it exactly, but it is a strong scent, while not being overly powerful at the same time. You know how some straight floral scents can be too much? This one isn’t, but it fills the room at the same time. Great stuff. My wife smelled it and was excited, so this is one we will be sharing, I am sure.
Stirling is definitely where my bread is buttered, although the Polar Vortex soap I used today worked good. The problem with it is that it doesn't have the slickness that Stirling has. I'd rate the skincare at around a 7.5 which is still decent. For tomorrow it'll be the Sheep.
It’s cold and rainy here in Jacksonville, FL today but in my mind I’m thinking of the Beach! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
With the addition of a couple of newcomers, my little family is growing rapidly. I think Rod has done a fantastic job putting this lineup together. They are all great performers, and there is really a great variety of knots and handles. To anyone considering trying one of these badgers, I can not recommend them enough. The knots in these perform WAY better than what you pay for them. They sit right in rotation with brushes that cost three, four even five times as much, and I am excited to use them, every time.
My Stoylin delivery is scheduled for this coming Monday. I look forward to receiving it then, would be a great way to begin the week ).
I added menthol crystals to my Piacenza and Coconut Lime aftershaves that didn't have any menthol. Went fairly light so I can add more if it's not enough. It's like salt - you can always add but not take away. But I like the chill pretty well so a lot wouldn't bother me! I have several other splashes that have menthol added by Rod. Some of those may get a little more to take them up a notch. Question for those of you who use menthol crystals: I could see that the crystals dissolved after a few minutes. Do the bottles need a shake before using to spread all of menthol around?
I had to think about it. I always shake them. Now I wonder what if a guy didn’t. I would think for sure on the first use.
I normally turn the bottle 180 degrees two or three times. I don't shake vigorously. Have you ever added crystals to witch hazel? I did a while ago and they haven't dissolved yet. I've shaken the bottle a good bit. Will they eventually dissolve?
