What is the gear sitting on? Some type of shrub?

 

Thank you Bruce. I have several rock gardens around the house. Many of them are in the shade pretty much year round and have developed a covering of moss. This picture was taken on the rock garden outside our bedroom with some shrubs out of focus in the background.

 

Where is the eye bleach!

Another pleasant shave today with good equipment and another fine cream. I am guessing that this one is either Proraso Green or something very much like it. I may put an aftershave on later more for the scent than anything else.

Bruce, up to this point, Jared @PickledNorthern ’s prancercising had gone undocumented. I’m not sure how you got this footage of him, but I’m certain he’ll get a boost in followers after this short documentary gets a few more views.

 

The blade gets flipped - 5 swipes on one edge, rotate blade, 5 swipes on edge, flip, repeat. So, yeah, the blade gets flipped.

Does hand stropping and flipping really do anything? Maybe not. Been doing it for the past 6-7 years. Figure can't hurt, might help. If nothing else it dries the blade before going into the next razor.

Another two pass DFS this morning. This is definitely my favorite Bay Rum scent, and the performance is pretty good as well. The soap was very slick with lots of cushion. I may have gone a little heavy with the AS, as my daughter walked in the bathroom and said she could smell it from the door. I really do like this scent.

Woke up this morning to this scene outside, which is very unusual for our area. It is also why my kids were up early.

The Kent brush definitely benefits from lathering with the sink dribble, Super Goop method. Working that lather deeper in than you do when face lathering really lets it have a comfortable splay. The resemblance to the Simpson Classic 1 synthetic is remarkable. I would not recommend this brush for face lathering, but it is actually quite good for bowl.

I have actually been traveling quite a bit with my other Futur clone, the NT Vigour. I don’t use a DE very often, but I really enjoy these. Considering that the actual name brand Merkur isn’t exactly the world’s most trouble free razor, my faith in the longevity of the knock offs isn’t exactly unshakeable. Considering the the Vigour model has some questionable adjustment features, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to pick up one of these Ming Shi’s. It is considerably lighter, weighing 93 grams, compared to 122 for the Vigour. It has stops on the adjustment, so it can’t be dialed up to setting Neal, like the Vigour. Otherwise, it is a pretty much identical shave. Krylon.

 

That’s not me. Nowhere near enough body hair.

 

Actually, you have just as much snow on the ground as we do right now. It has been unseasonably mild this year.

It must be fun to watch the kids see it though.

That would explain a lot, actually...

 

I was trying to wake up my son, who because we have house guests from Hurricane Harvey still, has been sleeping in our room. He wouldn't wake up, but as soon as my wife said "how much snow did we get", he bounced up and said "SNOW!!??" It is amazing at how excited they were. It was literally the first time my younger kids had seen snow, and my oldest only saw it once when she was about 2.5.

I grew up in the northern mountains of New Mexico, so I was used to it a bit. I forget how little exposure they have had to this stuff.

 

Congratulations o the expansion and on the move.
