Im sure there are posts about this..but im making another one Does anyone own this phone? I am really falling to the power of Apple marketing and am now convinced my life would be so much easier if I owned it. Does anyone want to talk me out of such foolishness....or tell me how they are now able to fly to work since picking up an iPhone.
Theyre nifty. But I would suggest waiting a little bit longer untill googles open source phone comes out. Think of the thousands of programmers making amazing programs for it, FOR FREE.
My son likes his. Not only do I get emails from him now that close with, "Sent from my iPhone" , but he says he can now get from Brooklyn to Midtown in like 3 minutes. :happy102 Me? I want a phone that I can, you know, make and receive CALLS on. (Sent from my Mac...)
To be fair, the blackberrys also have a "sent from a blackberry" signature at the bottom of the emails. On the bright side, I tought my friends how to turn the signature off so it appears that they are at home toiling over at 10pm on a week night when they are really out in a cab on the way to the bar.
i have the whole "sent from my palm centro" when i send out emails. I swear the power of the apple marketing... I hear about the new blackberry coming out thats suppose to be an iphone killer..but ive never owned or desired a blackberry. Decisions..decisions..
The new blackberry will just take all the features of the iphone and improve upon them. I personaly just prefer to have a real keyboard on the phone.
iPhone, you can't remove the bloody battery. That alone ticks me off enough to give pause to buy it. It is a basic feature which every phone should have.
Just to give my view, I would get a BlackBerry (not just because they are Canadian and built like tanks). I like the keyboards and the new Storm (The touch screen one) has a click able touch screen so it feels more.. natural so to speak. At least you get feedback. Personally, I want a Bold or one of the new Curves. Bold is my #1 choice though.
Personally, I want the LG Venus. Its touch screen but you can slide it up for a real keyboard. I like real keys. I have a few friends with the Dare and its 100$ touch screen. I cant use it for the life of me. Fat fingers and tiny buttons. It took me 15 minutes to send my first text without pressiing a thousand keys at once.
What is this thing with people wanting to remove the battery all the time? To me that is a non-issue! And yeah, I love my iPhone, best phone I ever had! The only thing I wish it had was an FM-radio built in. To paraphrase a famous tagline: "[You will have to pry it] From My Cold Dead Hands"
A good friend of mine has an iPhone (he was one of the idiots that payed way too much for it when they first came out and were in demand). He convinced me that I needed one, and I have to admit it was a pretty spectacular phone. I almost bought an iPhone but then I found out I was moving to Japan. At that time they weren't supported where I'd be moving. I have to admit, I had a couple of different BlackBerry's and they were great phones! It was a tough decision. Now that I have a few years before I have to worry about it, I'm sure they will have something better than the iPhone when I move back to the states.
Because just like other phones, and their counterparts the Ipod, they freeze. And than youre stuck sitting there with nothing you can do but wait for the battery to die and hope it works again.
Haven't seen anyone else say this yet, so I will. Step away from the iPhone! Go spend your money on top end shaving supplies that will last you for years to come! I mean, come on... you can't shave with an iPhone. Yet, anyway. :happy102 Seriously, I'm glad to have a cell phone that's just a phone. No camera. No email. No internet. No mp3 player. Just a phone. They're getting harder to find.
I also think the Iphones are gross. People take them to the gym and work out with them attached by some strap and sweat on them, people put their disgusting unwashed hands all over them all the time, use them more than a regular phone, and than stick them up to their faces. No thank you. I'll stick with just a phone that clean all the time. Sometimes being that connected to the world is more of a hassle than anything else.
It is MY phone, I want to be able to take the battery out, replace it.. have a spare in case of emergency.. and with the iPhone you can't. This also reminds me, the new 3G has yet to be software unlocked yet. So if you are an unlock freak, the 3G isn't for you (yet).
