They are one of my favorite blades, especially on the second and third day. I suggest you give them a try. Have fun!
Try any and all blades that you're able to... that's the way to find out what you prefer. Get various sample packs. Enjoy!
Try them all. A lot of folks like Feathers. In my opinion Feathers are the worst, Astra SPs are the best. But a lot depends on what razor you're using them in.
I enjoy Feathers, too. They get lots of hype, but keeping in mind they are razor sharp just like most any other blades... I like them in my Fat Boy on setting #9. Gotta ride the cap, and helps having put in some time building my technique, but they give good shave!
Theyre good blades but they arent for everyone. Some people find them to be too sharp and that they dont last all that long.
Wasn't impressed when I tried them about seven years ago. For the price, I have no real desire to try them again. I did all my blade experimenting years ago. I've settled on Astra SP and an Israeli blade marketed to the military BX/PX. For me, these two brands work in any razor I drop 'em into.
I love Feathers. I don’t use a lot of DE blades anymore, but Feathers are probably the only ones I will buy going forward.
Feathers are a good blade but never worked for me. I had a number on hand and was approached by @PanChango for a trade. Among the blades he sent me were some Polsilver Super Iridium and it has been love at first sight. I never got a cut/nick free shaves with the Feathers. It is good to see they work for others.
Feather blades work for me in the 2011 R41. No matter the brand, I am three and done. I like Bic's the best Dorco 301's go into the trash with the rest. I have Voskhod's enough for years But I have an allergy to Teflon, it appears Come on now, friends of blades; with whom, shall I trade?
I am a big fan of feathers and have been getting 5 super nice shaves from them. Give them a shot. If it turns out you don't like them, put them in a drawer and revisit after 6 months or a year. It is amazing what time and skill level do to your preferences. It took me a while to warm up to them, but they are one of my favorite DE blades. Thanks @Redrock it is always nice to be able to trade for some. I am glad that you found some you liked in what I sent your way. You ever give the Rapira Swedish Supersteel blades a shot? They are pretty nice. I picked up a bunch of them off the bay for $5 and change per hundred a couple years ago. Ill send you some if you would like.
I believe I have had a go with the Swedes, and found them to be quite fine. But between you and me, there has passed a lot of time. From thee to me and me to you; let's trade a few!
I rather like the Dorco 301's, especially after I discovered the trick to the ones from the Dollar Store. But, YMMV, as they say.
