RazorPlate. A few really good options out there, but went with Chris after seeing his experience replating chromed Monobilts.

Good call, I'm sure you will be pleased. I just checked his Gallery. The Monobuilt example there is easy on the eyes. Can't wait to see yours.

Monday noon December 11 - Mystery Cream Challenge

    Gillette Black Beauty on 4 / Topaz Platinum ( 2 )
30DC LE Maple Cashmere synthetic brush
    Vlasta cream sample K
    Alum and rinse

I'm trying to shift my shaving back to mornings from night, so I did two shaves today. Sample K was a medium hard soap chunk. I ended up squishing pieces into the bottom of my suribachi bowl so I could lather it.

Like J, this was a fairly strong scented soap. Some sort of flower / herbal mix, not sure what and not wildly fond of it. Had a bit of trouble with the water/product ratio but the lather came out okay and the shave was alright.

Overall, I have had better shaves, but I have had ones that were a lot worse too.

I bet that blade can shave. Those old English blades are terrific IMO. Great set up, Adam!

He is still THE Master of replating as far as I can tell. Others do good jobs too, but RazorPlate is absolutely topnotch.

Great photo of a great razor. The Timeless 0.95 OC is about my upper limit for a daily shaver. Its smooth but super efficient.

My 9 y/o daughter dropped the fairy on my desk a few months ago. The fairy appeared in an attempt to show a little effort on my part for SOTD photos. :) I don't have time to set-up outside but I can at least carry 3 things down the stairs with me every now and then. *eyeroll*

Seriously, you guys post some amazing photos. There are some great photographers in this group.

The other day, my wife pointed out that we don't have any good photos of our kids. We live through cell phones and the cameras are lacking. Said she wanted a camera. This year she will get a Nikon DSLR for Christmas, our first. Hopefully she can document children better than we have in the past few years. I'm looking forward to playing with it. It looks fun.

Thank you, sir. I can do stints of daily driving on that much razor, but I have to have a break every 5 or 6. I usually try to let it grow out for a few days every now and then. I could run the Bronze every day for a month, I believe.

I much prefer my shaves with 3 or more days growth and a Timeless 95 or a Gillette Adjustable on 9.

Razor: Blackland Bluebird (Blackbird) Delta Echo Finish
    Blade: Pol Silver (4)
    Brush: Oscar 11, w/Omega 10049 Boar
    Soap: Oleo Montrose Beach
    A/S: Myrsol Blue
    Bowl: Boise Mudworks Blue

The Oscar 11 is beating the heck out of this soap. Whipping an amazing lather. Another 3 passes with a minor touch up and a near BBS shave. I still think the Delta Echo finishing has made this razor more aggressive as far as I can remember.

Monday, thought I'd try a pic.

Prep: Hot shower, hand strop blade
    Tunes: Pandora Shuffle
    Coffee: Wegmans Tradition Medium, black
    Soap: TSD Brut Type
Brush: Vintage Mohawk 3-338 with original boar knot
    Razor: D4 Gillette Red Tip
Blade: Astra SP, day 1, 3 passes
Post: Cold water rinse, Brut ASB, Brut Cologne, Brut pit stick, Brut... nope, that's it. Hand strop blade and drop into next razor
Moustache Maintenance: Dirigo Blue 'Stache Stuff, Dirigo Blue 'Stache Wax

Darn near BBS. Love this blade

By the way, the chowder mug is used for lathering, not my coffee. ;)
