Agreed, but to be fair, Stirling did nothing for me on the cinnamon issue in the Bay Rum other than tell me what not to use in their product line. I wound up spending maybe $50 total on the product and shipping to PIF to another ShaveDen member.

This time Rod did make a good faith gesture to make it more palatable on my end. Good for him. Not expected at all but that $10 credit will sell him $100s in product from other people, IMO. Word of mouth testimonials are critical to small businesses. Rod knows I'm a sucker for his goods.

Thanks, fellas, for the kind words.

Andrew, the Voskie continues to shave well...plenty sharp and super smooth. I have no doubt now that it will last for seven shaves. I'm tempted to push it a little further after hearing that Jim got 14 shaves out of one blade.

Honestly, Stirling not being mentioned in that article is the least of its problems. The discussion in various FB and Reddit groups was interesting.

I was pretty happy that dude ignored a lot of artisans, and a couple of artisans I know we’re happy to be ignored as well.

I react to certain citrus fragrenece oils, but not the essential oils. I love citrus scents and have had to PIF or sell about half of them because of this. It’s a nice gesture, but I certainly wouldn’t expect it from a vendor that didn’t make a bad product.

Tuesday evening December 12 - ultimate Western capitalist imperialist decadence

Pre: shower with Supply Lost Provence Deep Body Wash
Delta Echo Ink black Gillette Black Beauty on 4 / Topaz Platinum ( 2 )
    Kent BK12 badger brush
Supply Lost Provence Ultra Lather Shave Cream (like a croap)
Supply Lost Provence Post Shave Healing balm

After finishing the Mystery Cream Challenge, I had a different shave planned for today. However, when I showered, I used the Supply lavender/blue sage/basil shampoo and body wash, and like the scent so much I decided to extend it through my shave.

The Supply cream comes in a 2" diameter glass jar far too small for almost any brush to load from it, so the croap-like cream has to be dug out and spread in a lather bowl or on the face. Especially with the brush I picked today. I used my Kent BK12 brush - the Soap Aircraft Carrier - for the second time. To have a bowl big enough for it to lather in, I broke out my Junichi Tanaka scuttle.

I have had the scuttle for about a month but this is the first time I used it. Since I was using the scuttle to lather in anyway, I also decided to try a warm lather and filled its outer chamber with hot tap water.

The brush eventually whipped up an excellent lather. I thought I had used too much cream, but the amount was just right for this brush. The photo doesn't show a lot of lather in the bowl, but that huge brush is stuffed with enough for at least two shavers.

And the lather and that huge pillowy badger brush were warm when applied to my face!

I did a full three passes, then relathered for a fourth time just to enjoy the feeling. I left that lather on my face while I cleaned up to enjoy this cream's excellent postshave feel.

As a final decadence, I skipped the alum and finished off with the matching balm.

It was a great shave tonight!

Most of my negative reactions I have had have been with Fragrance Oils compared to Essential Oils. I will buy soaps with Fragrance Oils but if given a choice I prefer those using Essential Oils.
