Thank you both. Andrew, yes the AS is stronger than the soap. FWIW, my soap is about a year old, and I think it is not as strong as it used to be, either.

For a slack flibberdigibbet like me being able to call my Focus "better lather" I am enjoying just that. I do enjoy a razor-centric month and my shaves have improved because of Adjustable August, Single Edge September, Open Comb October, & No Variation November. I forget what January's theme was last year.

Thank you Gentlemen of the 30 DC! I ought to do a Rule with the Red Tip but it's so easy to get distracted.

The scent strength on my tub of MM is very weak. Though it may have been sitting around on a shelf at IB for a long while before they ran that sale.

Love the Christmas themed photo. We are so behind on getting Christmas decorations out that I am not sure they'll get out and done in time.

Thank you Andrew. This one has opened up better than my ivory handled brush. Maybe I pressed down harder on this one while loading.

Mine came from Fendrihan a year ago. It was definitely stronger when I got it. The Farinik I got on sale at IB was definitely a stronger scent, though. I much prefer the lanolin in the MM to the formula in the Farinik. The Farinik was not for me.

    Great stuff, all!

    Thursday

    Prep: Hot shower
    Coffee: Wegmans Traditional Medium, black
    Tunes: Pandora Shuffle
    Soap: Golddachs Sport
Brush: Vulfix Grosvenor - 1/2 badger 1/2 boar
    Razor: R1 Adjustable @ 6
Blade: Astra SP, day 4, 3 passes
Post: Cold water rinse, Dickenson's WH
    Smell-goody: Curve
Moustache Maintenance: Dirigo Blue 'Stache Stuff, Dirigo Blue 'Stache Wax

    Another darn near BBS.

The mug on the lather mug is Little John. He is named after @John Beeman. John sent me the mug, along with the Golddachs soap mentioned above, exactly two years ago. I marked the date on the zip lock bag I keep the soap in - 12/14/15. Soaps last quite a while when you have over two dozen in the rotation! Thanks again, John!

That's a very cool lather mug, Steve, and very cool SOTD photo. :happy088:

How do you brew your coffee? I use a pour over coffee maker, and it brews a good cup (or 8) for me and my Bride.

Late post for this mornings shave. Pretty good shave with this razor, but it is time to change the blade. I also have to say, I was reminded how great the post shave feel is with this soap. It really is a great performer. I hope everyone is having a great day!

    Thanks.
I use a Bonavita BV1900TS drip. No bells or whistles, but it does have a thermal metal carafe that I like; it prevents burnt coffee. Did a google for best coffee makes and it ranked first or second on most lists. And, hey, if Sweet Maria's carries it... ;). I wasn't about to pay their asking price, though. Much cheaper with Amazon Prime.

Thanks Steve. We have the same coffee maker and made a very similar purchase decision. We also have a French Press that we haven't used it in a while. We think the Bonavita makes a smoother cup of coffee for our tastes.

Since my Bride and I have been married, we have worn out a few basic drip coffee makers and recently replaced a couple of Keurigs with the Bonavita. The Keurig was OK for a fast cup as we ran out the door for work, but I figured we'd go broke buying K-Cups if we relied on it all day now that we spend more time at home.

Great set up, Jim. This SOTD photo, as with many of yours, would look fantastic enlarged and placed on the wall in the shave den or the man cave. :happy088:
