Gillette was about done making DE by you BY. Three piece Tech, Black Handled SS, or the first year plastic bottom tray Black Beauty. Since you are a young guy there's a better chance of finding one in decent shape. Some of us old timers might have more iconic choices, but the mileage has us getting them replated.
The good news is Mandom, launched in 1970 is still in production!

As long as you get it back before Neal wears the chrome off? I read about the history of Toggles. It helped to reduce my desire to own one when I discovered that they were an experiment that culminated in the #195 and later Adjustables.
I'd still buy one if it presented at the price I've paid for my thrift /antique store & estate sale purchases. Not likely, but I keep looking.

About six shaves ago I thought I only had two or three left. This point of the soap always seems to take forever, but I have come so close to actually using it all, I don't want to just throw out what is left.

Terrific SOTD photo, Brian. That's one of my favorite straight razors in your arsenal.

Beautiful SOTD photo, Jim. What a great way to start a Friday.

Every time you use Stirling Glastonbury soap, I think of King Arthur...although he is likely not buried there. After our guide told us about the legend, he ticked off several reasons why he couldn't be buried in that spot. That's his legendary burial site in the center of the photo.

Great set up and SOTD photo, Andrew. Most importantly, Logan is in the house! rokn.gif

Its fixable, but I am sending it back to Kevin. I enjoy using his edges, and am kind of bitter that I screwed this one up.

Thank you, Brian! Do we have to twist your arm to get a grandson photo posted?
Perhaps if you migrate it to the middle of the tub it will go more quickly

This morning I put a fresh Astra in my Blackbird and set to work on several days growth. Having not shaved in several, I was excited to try the BB on some growth. These are historically my best shaves. I went with the Astra to take some bite out of the Feather I used a few days ago. I was not disappointed. 2 passes with some touch-up and I'm clean. This razor shaves me closer than any I've used. My cheeks are BBS. I obviously like and benefit from the extra blade exposure. 1st pass was not very audible. The 2nd pass and she sang a wonderful tune. The BB does a very good job on my neck, DFS . I like this razor, very much.

    Happy Friday everyone!

Today’s shave was brought to to me by the following:

    Razor: Gillette 195 (Fat Boy)
    Bowl: WCS

These items courtesy of Jared @PickledNorthern:
    Brush: Stirling Plisson
    Soap: Stirling Ozark Mountain

Ah, yes...the scent of evergreen filled the bathroom this morning! If there was a scent that embodies the holidays, this has to be one of them. This scent brings the fresh forest inside the house, instead of actually taking your gear out into it! Sure, the photos aren’t as pretty, but for us lazy folks...;)

This is only my second use of Stirling soaps, and I can see why they’re a “fan favorite”! Easy to lather. Great scents. Slick...oh my heavens yes! They have that down pat. Like yesterday, I almost had to check to see if I had a blade loaded. The Stirling brush whipped up a mountain of decadent lather.

Two passes and a little touch up...good to go! Another fun shave in the bag!

Have a great Friday everyone - and some awesome shaves too!

When I get down to the dregs of a soap puck, I'll often scrape out the soused remnants and stick them to the top of a new puck.

Ouch. Hopefully it's not too bad and you'll be able to (or Kevin can) work the chip out.
