    Prep: Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick
    Razor: Schick I1 injector
    Brush: JR #142 black badger
    Lather: Stirling Scots Pine Sheep
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Scots Pine aftershave
    WTG, touch up

Nice shave this morning. Easy and straightforward with terrific results. The Stirling sheep base is some good stuff. I finished off the little aftershave sample of Scots Pine and will now be pairing this soap with some Ozark Mountain splash. Mmm mmm good!

Off to a work event this morning - the town's Christmas parade! We march with the high school band and bring up any 7th or 8th graders from the middle school band that would like to join us. It's a big, fairly sloppy mess, but the parents and community love it. We wear jeans, sweatshirts, and Santa hats to make it fun. No formal uniforms. So I'll be engaged with that most of the morning, but after that my Christmas break begins! Most of next week I'll be in Chicago at a huge music conference, so things are staying busy. Speaking of busy, this thread is crazy fast!

    Have a great weekend, everyone!

She has done that on a few soaps, on this one she was just giving me a hard time. She’s good like that.

Edit- I quoted the wrong post. I’m also too lazy to fix it.

    December 16

    Weber SS
    Astra SP (1)
    Simpson Chubby 2 Super
    Castle Forbes Lavender shave cream
Alum, Thayers Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Fine Platinum aftershave

I enjoyed seven smooth and easy shaves with the Voskhod. I was having so much fun yesterday that I made the seventh shave a four-passer with some touch ups just for kicks. Now, I'm onto a fresh Astra SP blade, and I'm hoping for similar performance.

It's hard to believe we have only nine more days to Christmas. December has really flown by. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Funny story, Adam! Almost as funny as the time when @PickledNorthern came to visit you and your Bride.

    Great picture, Charlie!

I’m curious about this shave cream. I’ve not used the brand but I like lavender scents in general. I’ve only used TOBS Lavender and RazoRock Lavender. Sounds like you really like this? Thinking I might have to get me some of this.

Great set up and photo today, Perry. I agree regarding the performance of the sheep base in the Stirling soap. It's good stuff.

Have a blast with the kids today and enjoy your music conference next week. Merry Christmas and safe travels!

Thank you Gentlemen. My 195 is User Grade. It's got a little brassiness on the high points of the handle. Gillette did a good nickle plate to have withstood the march of time. Then they convinced folks to buy "new & improved" gear. I think the present condition is as much because of nonuse as care taken by previous owners.

The WSP "mini-pucks" are just that...thus I end up making a mess of it when swirling the brush. It throws me off-I spend half my shave taking it off the PUCK than doing the actual shave itself. I think from here on out, I'll do two load jobs with WSP's pucks. I should clarify-these are normal size, not "mini" as I wrote, but they sure do look small as it is.

It’s Saturday morning so laziness is expected!
As to your other comment, a wife’s job is to keep her man in a state of flux. Mine does!

Ummm... not exactly where I was going with that thought Brian.:rolleyes005: But hey, no judgement here. Whatever happens in Scotland stay in Scotland and all that. Maybe we should keep any sort of proposed meeting stateside, though...:susel:

Good morning, Dan, and thanks for the kind words.

I also like lavender scents, and this cream is the best I've run across. The scent is fairly strong and pleasant, but it is not overpowering at all. It whips up into a slick, thick, and protective lather. In terms of performance, it compares to the TOBS creams although it's more expensive. I'd certainly buy it again. I found the best price at http://www.shaving.ie/.

I'm eager to break out a new puck of Mike's Natural Soap in Hungarian Lavender. I'm trying to use up something in my current rotation first. Mike's is my top performing soap, and lavender is my favorite scent. I have high hopes for this one!

Paul, you might consider using the mini-pucks as shave sticks. Just rub the puck on your face and build a face lather. I bet that would work out better for you! It looks weird and sounds funny to say "rub the puck on your face," but it works!

Wouldn't work with WSP-the soap is in a container.....oh did you mean rub it on whenever it appears that there is more OUTSIDE the thing than INSIDE?

Well, let's see...there's a very well-known golf course in Scotland, and you live down the street from Mar-a-Lago. You mention kilts right out of the blue. Further investigation is needed. We may have to retain the services of Boris and Uri on this case. :signs002:

As an alternative, you can also remove the soap from the container and either press it or grate it into a shave stick. I keep an empty shave stick tube on hand for this purpose. An empty deodorant stick container would work also. Just a thought...
