Shew....i finally made it to the end of the thread. 200+ posts today should be close to passing the Nov total. Good stuff men.

Today I drove the Blackbird again with an Astra on 2nd use. It was another stellar shave from the BB. Stirling Ozark Mountain soap, AS, balm.

    Decadent December Weekend

Wow this thread moves. Saturday despite have a number of shaves since a refresh my biggest blade, M Martinez was both very sharp and very smooth. After a number of practice lathers I finally got a B&M soap to work, and it was slick. After the first pass I knew I had a shot at an epic shave, and it was an epic shave. This razor is becoming my favorite, with the big heavy blade that is easy to handle to smile that makes shaving my neck so easy it is a joy to use.

    Irritation A+ Closeness A+ Smoothness A+ Sharpness A+

    Razor: M Martinez 8+/8
    Stop: Mastro Livi
    Brush: Simpson Duke 3
    Pre: Proraso
    Soap: B&M
AS: Spieck AS, Edwin Jagger ASB
    Scent: MDCI Invasion Barbare

For Sunday I took out another big smiling blade, the tea kettle and went for a nice hot lather shave. I guess my mind was not 100% focused, I had a nice shave but was hoping for a second epic shave in a row. A weeper under my chin and some feedback from the alum but otherwise a good shave.

    Irritation A- Closeness A Smoothness A Sharpness A

    Razor: Silverloaf 8/8
    Stop: Mastro Livi
    Brush: Kent BK12
    Pre: Nivea
    Soap: QCS
AS: Razorock Tight Buns AS, Edwin Jagger ASB
    Scent: Creed Green Irish Tweed

Fuzzy, is it? I don't believe we've met? I'm Dan.
I was a little concerned about introducing myself when I saw this first post from you. But having read all of the posts to you from the others I'm satisfied it is safe to say, "Howdy!" :D

Thank you. The Duke 3 was my first nice expensive brush purchase. I made it early in my wet shaving journey. The Duke lived up to it's reputation, performs great with hard soaps to creams and while it is their 'best' grade it is a soft as my Simpson 'super' grade brushes.

Thank you, it is very shiny and hard to take pictures of due to the reflections. It does have a cool factor that attracted me to it.

    Saturday evening December 16 - 30DC Decadence

    IMG_00000073.jpg

Gem Damaskeene SE / Gem PTFE ( 1)
30DC LE Maple Cashmere synthetic brush
Jeeves of Hudson Street Key Lime shave stick
    Alum and Florida Water

In honour of Fuzzy @wchnu dropping back in to visit, I decided to shave tonight with an SE razor. One I got from him in fact as a prize in the TSD Raffle. (Ticket sales for the current Raffle end in about an hour...)

I then decided to make the shave a "30DC" event: The razor was from @wchnu, the brush is the 30DC LE version made by Jason @jtspartan, the soap was a recent gift from Adam @Drygulch, and the Florida Water I acquired after seeing lots of the Crew using it and paired it with the Key Lime based on suggestions from this thread.

I haven't used a Gem-style SE since September so I approached it a bit gingerly. However, two careful passes later and I have a BBS without any blood. The alum was a bit warm in a couple places, but I think that's partly because the Gem PTFE blades are smoother on the second and subsequent shaves.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Edit:. Drat! I just looked in the mirror and noticed a small nick under my chin. So much for my run of blood-free shaves...

Wow, spend a day having a moving sale and packing a trailer for my daughter and this thread is out of control. It just took me an hour to catch up
This soap was a very generous gift from Douglas Carey and boy do I like it. Wonderful stuff!

    Nice presentation, Brian!

Coincidentally, this evening one of my sons drove through Ogallala, Nebraska, where this AS was made, making his way home.

Did he stop by the company to see if he could make a factory wholesale purchase of their entire product line for you?

No, dang it! Didn't even think about it until I saw the AS Brian @mrchick had used... but I'm sure they were closed at the time anyway. :angry017:
