  1. Thank you! I see your brush was the first to go in the raffle. Was my first pick too. Lol.

  5. I saw a question and a few responses on the Gillette Slide. Yes, I'm starting to reply to flashes and memories while I keep up here. At least my memory is intact, even if my hair and height aren't.

Thought I'd share kind of a classic video on the Slide. I use it nearly every shave on my neck to get a near BBS or BBS. There are a couple of other advanced techniques in the video.

  6. Sunday December 17
    Rockwell 6s on plate #3 / Topaz Platinum (2)
    Simpsons CH2 Synthetic brush
Jeeves of Hudson Street Key Lime shave stick
    Alum and Florida Water

Today I used stuff I have used in various combinations during the past week. I face lathered the shave stick using the Chubby 2 brush; it did a good job. A nice easy two-pass shave to a BBS today. No blood, unlike yesterday. This was the last shave on my last Topaz Platinum blade -- it went into the blade bank and that 100-pack is now officially done.

    Have a blessed Sunday!

  7. Thanks Neal. I had someone tell me it made a regular razor act like a slant. Was not so sure about that.

  14. @jtspartan if you would like to try vintage colgate let me know. I do not have a shave stick but I can hook you up with a cake of the colgate barbershop soap.

  15. Thanks, Fuzzy. I really wanted the tube. The soap was going to be a nice bonus. I passed one up in an antique store last spring, and I’ve been kicking myself about it periodically when I acquire more soap sticks.

  16. I have a colgate tube I think. I will check and get pics when I get home. If you want it it's yours. I use a williams one for my home made williams stick.
