Time on workdays is a premium for me as well. I have worked really hard to get the time down for my entire routine of getting ready for work. For me to shower, shave, dress and police my area takes me roughly 20 minutes. Slowing down on the weekends adds about 5 more minutes to the routine. I enjoy my morning coffee and walks so I just get up earlier for that part of things.
New here this looks like lots of fun. Looking to learn all I can. BTW I smoke cigars, drink whiskey and love shenanigans!!!
Hi. Welcome to the 30DC aka "the Crew". The more the merrier! You sound like you will fit right in...
It really makes no business sense to do what Gillette did, unless they were thinking they'd get a different market, perhaps higher end, for the Toggle. If they were counting on that it failed miserably. However, we are the beneficiaries of their mistake and it certainly didn't kill their business so I guess it's one of those hiccups major corporations can make and live to sell even more.
Thanks, Jason. The actual adjustment levels feel the same. Using the dial, the clicks are still definite but do feel a little less "sharp" or "metallic", as if they are very slightly cushioned. The feeling is strongest on the Black Beauty and weakest on the Slim; just a bit noticeable on the Fatboy.
Shenanigans? We don't allow those here! Oh wait...shenanigans are ok, it's Malarkey we don't.......what?..........oh.....yeah that's ok too. Ummmm. Did I say welcome aboard?
I have to admit I am not very fond of Russians and I don't like Vodka. But I am willing to give everyone a chance.
December 18, 2017 Razor: Schick G8 Injector Blade: Chick Brush: 30DC LE/Pure Badger Soap: Williams Post: Alum, Listerine, WH The last few days have been a bit of a mess. Early in the week, I started to come down with a cold/flu. Thursday, it was bad enough that I stayed home from work (no shave). Friday, I pulled myself together enough to drive to NC to help DW and DD bring back DD's car and some belongings (and managed to get in a BBS from the Schick 500). On Saturday, what was an upper respiratory thing decided to turn into a lower intestinal one. This made for an interesting drive home on Sunday. After 14 hours of sleep, I feel almost human again and finally got to shaving three days of growth. I wouldn't call this a decadent shave, but definitely an efficient one. Good enough considering how I feel.
Just got it and already plotting an exit? Clean that thing and drive It! Why you think you'll dump it. Just curious. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
I have every intention of giving it a go, and trying it out. My main interest in wetshaving is straights, and I have over 100 of those. For DEs, I have three I have kept, and sold off the other 20 or so I had. I've had a couple of slims, and never quite got them dialed in. If this one ends up being a fantastic shave, that could change. Its kind of like why I love old 4x4s, but would never own a pristine Willy's Flatfender or Dodge Powerwagon, I know I am going to use it and not preserve it, and it might be in better hands with someone else. That said, when I had a chance to own a 51 Willy's pickup that had already been modified, I wheeled the wee out of it, and enjoyed every minute. I did end up passing it on to someone who would preserve it for the next generation though.
