  1. Thank you, Dan!
  2. Thank you, Bruce! She did a great job as usual. The Fat Boy is in really nice shape. It is obvious that whoever owned it previously took care of it.

  3. Awesome photos of drool inducing gear gents!! :smiley respect:

  5. I take a few hours off last night and wait until mid morning this morning, and it is almost impossible to get caught up! This is awesome! Some very impressive set ups and pictures this morning, gentlemen. Great job!

A quick, but easy two pass this morning for a DFS. I getting close to the end of this soap, which has been great. I will eventually replace it, but will work through some other soaps for a while. I hope everyone has a great day!

  8. Thank you all for the advice. I learn from it. I went "middle of the road" yesterday because I had a couple of days growth. While I had not used this razor before, I had some experience with my Black Beauty so I figured starting at the low end would be too mild. Today, my plan is to try #1 just so I can say I've tried it. After yesterday's close shave, I'm barely feeling the nearly 24 hours growth on my face right now. So mild should be fine. At least, I'll have the opportunity to assess it.

Have a great day, guys! :)

  12. So this morning, I grabbed razor that I had originally planned on selling. Its a simple Boker 5/8 square tip, with black horn scales and an aluminum wedge. Every time I have thought about selling it, I use it and land a BBS shave with it. Today was not an exception. I threw my rotation out the window today so I could use the El Caballero and Gunpowder Spice again. I am really enjoying this soap, thanks again @Douglas Carey. I used my Envy White brush and whipped up a fantastic lather. Three passes, no blood, very little irritation. Splashed some whiskey on my face and called it good. Great pictures today everyone!

I'm in for a long day at work. I got the news yesterday that I won't have work past March, so today I have to tell my employees. Not looking forward to it.

  16. Adam, I'm delighted you had a fantastic shave this morning with that SR. I have to ask, did you really splash whiskey on your face? Or is that code for aftershave?

Sorry to hear about the bad news re work. I pray everything works out well for you. :)

  17. Thanks, Dan. I first tried shaving with single blade safety razors - a Schick and a Fatboy - about 12 or 15 years ago. It didn't go well, and I gave up and went back to my electrics. I did first acquire a rather impressive collection of useless-to-me vintage razors though. A couple years ago I decided to try again, but this time I went onto the now-existing Web to find helpful information. One of the things I discovered was TSD and then the 30DC and that has made a world of difference.

Day 4 with the ‘crat Jr. Loaded in a Feather and had a routine 3 pass shave. First use of this Catie’s soap. It is a nice, spicy scent that seemed to pair well with the Reserve Spice.
    Have a great day all!
