Neal @NCoxSTL and Chris @Bama Samurai, thanks for writing the top two posts about the start of the 30DC. I have truly never seen anything quite like it anywhere else. The shaving technique instruction is topnotch as are the built-in gear reviews. But Chris's second post shows the true heart of this place: where else can a thread on shaving include comments on job loss and death and everyone takes them in stride?

It's a great place even if the cookies are now revolting...

Had no idea what set up I was going to use today until I looked at my gear. The only item I was for sure about was this AS. While out and about I visited the only Barber's Supply shop in the Parrish (Louisiana doesn't have Counties). Although I have a bottle of LT Face Tonic I use it rarely preferring alcohol based splashes. Reading the label I saw this is just that! So as I gathered my thoughts and sniffed the AS prior to my evenings shave, the sweet almost old fashioned hair spray scent brought me to Klar Seifen. Small aluminum screw top tub that's a pain to load. More marzipan almond scent than a kilo of Cella. Quick dip of the synth knot in cool water and 30 seconds of swirling on a quintuple milled hard soap, into the ceramic bowl. I haven't been trying for Super Goop but I think I found it. Couple swipes under a trickling tap and glossy yogurt lather filled my bowl. I did check to see what blade I'd left in the Clone that hasn't seen much action since last month. For you guys that keep spread sheets, I'm the other end of the pendulum's swing. No idea how many uses on the blade but it wasn't rusty. Got my regular three passes, still plenty of lather that hadn't thought about going flat, so I did the Ming Shi Slide on both sides of my neck. Then chin detailing, edged around the extra growth where I'm letting the mustache go wide. My walrus style now twists up into some decent graspable appendages. Had enough lather to shave something else, but I rinsed it down the drain. Man's gotta know his limitations, right? So I'd already decanted the Lucky Tiger into a glass bottle and thought I knew how to move the label. The Pinaud Label Transfer Method© does not work on Lucky Tiger bottles. But the juice feels good. Before I sat down to write up this shave report I tried to look up the product on the web. It must be discontinued and no longer in production. Hurmph! I ought to go back and buy the other two bottles.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

That cypress brush handle of yours looks good with a WD HM knot, too. I've got one in a B-400 ferrule. It's among my best badger knots.

A few additional limericks from the great Cookie Revolution have been ... uhm ... discovered over at the Limerick Crew. I thought they should be posted here as well:

The newbie shaver to find cookies has gone
Will he return to shave before dawn?
    We'll have to see
    If he's absentee
Or mowing his beard like a lawn.

The veteran shaver slept, and missed the fight
    The revolution occurred overnight
    while getting some shut eye
    The cookies passed him by
    Proving that 2+2=5 is right.

    Propaganda says cookies are coming
    Why then, is everyone running?
    The have-nots all know
    It's all just for show
Very much like gold plated plumbing

Thanks a lot Jim. I'm supposed to pick up the new car at 1PM today. One of my son's is coming down for a visit for a few days.

Thanks very much. The G3 isn't my birth razor. I have an Aristocrat and some Super Speeds that are my birth razors.

Another excellent shave this morning. While the Feather blade does not last as long as the modified Gem blade, it does provide a closer shave. As expected the MdC Vetyver was very easy to lather and load. Since MdC can take a lot of water, it is important to make sure to use enough water in order to get the most from the soap. Three passes and touch ups along my jaw line and lower right neck had the baby in range I buffed my neck and caught the little guy. A splash of Fine Fresh Vetiver and I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.
